It's getting pretty close to mid-day for DATELESS. He's had releases on Dirty Bird, Snatch, This Ain't Bristol and Toolroom to name a few and that old snowball called success feels it's rolling in zee right direction.

The potential problem with success is that people can change. Things can go to their heads. They start believing the hype.

I really hope this doesn't happen to our boy DATELESS.

I mean, let's face it, he was so humble - admitting he had no dates and resigning himself to the studio, putting in the countless hours it takes to become a dope producer - not to mention the anonymity that goes with it.

All his friends were out getting laid and there he was, head down working on head boppers and hand raisers, panty droppers fo real.

But here's the rub.

The work has paid off. 

The SHAKERY EP is an epic example of where he at! We've got the boompty aka lead single THE SHAKERY, then we got the (dare i say tribal) house with a slice of wonk aka CHÉ and then we've hot the high five to the heads with FEEL THE EARTH MOVE which god damn!!!! do we love here at CLUB SWEAT.

So mr DATELESS - YES - you are about to have a lot of people telling you how good you are. YES - you are as good as they say and YES - you are going to get a lot of offers for hang time (i think that's lingo for a date) - but please - don't let it go to your head.

We are back in 2013.
Beginning of 2012 a new name appeared on the international dancefloor: CLAPTONE (artist of the year 2012 in German Trendcharts DCC).
The track ‘CREAM’ became the worldwide Top Track (No.2) of Beatport in the category Deep House and was among the Top 10 of the most charted tracks for 2012 on Resident Advisor.
The new year brings 2 more surehots for the clubs: WRONG & NO EYES featuring JAW from dOP.
Early support by Tensnake, Solomun, Noir, Laurent Garnier, DJ T…

In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded darkness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. Backlit by a bright glow of iridescent light, the undecipherable form wore a dazzling golden mask. Its long beak swooped down like an inverted horn and since then, people have referred to the mythical being simply as Claptone.
Years spending wandering medieval landscapes have informed Claptone’s view of the world, experiencing both magical mystery and muted melancholy he enchanted onlookers with occult instruments and beguiling sounds. Forever surrounded by a sense of intrigue, the world soon cottoned on to the elusive yet enchanting musical powers of this otherworldly beast. The results are that today his shamanistic sonic powers take him all around the world.
Whilst Claptone has continued to roam in his own circles, 2012AD proved to be a year dominated by his infectious ‘Cream’ track. It became an immediate hit, topping new world charts at Beatport and RA, whilst the sonic conjuring of the ‘Night On Fire’ EP also lured all those who heard it, with the result another Top 20 hit. But that’s not all, for the creativity flows freely in our hero, and his ‘Another Night’ also proved to be just as successful on the dancefloor. Deep and woozy, the Claptone sound pairs theatre with tragedy, feel good vibes with acute melancholia and imbues each groove with a Rhodes laced funk, an organic string hook and myriad earthy elements.
Up to the present day, Claptone releases have been birthed on Germany’s influential Exploited label, picking up props from the likes of Pete Tong, DJ Sneak, Soul Clap, DJ Hell, Jesse Rose, A-Trak along the way. Who or whatever Claptone is, it is alive, with a life of its own, evolving and revolving in equal measure, exploring new sounds naturally and forever taking inspiration from long gone and occult worlds.
So far, esteemed and influential dancefloors at clubs in Berlin, London, Paris, Melbourne, Shanghai, New York and many others around the world have fallen under the sonic spell of this secretive alchemist. The future is unpredictable for Claptone, but a new release ‘Wrong’ including the track ‘No Eyes’ with the inimitable JAW from French funsters dOP is on the horizon. Beyond that, your guess is as good as ours…

Kicking off a new series of reworks, Justin Martin and Timo Maas re-imagine two tracks from ‘Charmer’, the debut album from the mysterious enigma with the golden mask.

‘Charmer Remixed’ is the final act of Claptone’s debut album campaign; a collection of remixes which close the curtain on the ‘Charmer’ chapter but leave us all wanting more and anticipating what he has planned for us next.
 
Part 1 features reworks from Justin Martin and Timo Maas, both of which have already been causing a commotion on dancefloors over the holidays and picking up the support of Jamie Jones, Tensnake and Nic Fancuilli.

Justin Martin delivers his interpretation of ‘The Music Got Me’ with a peak-time juggernaut flecked with Claptone’s trademark emotion, whilst Timo takes us to the darker dancefloor of Circoloco with his twist of the noir ‘Puppet Theatre’ featuring Peter, Bjorn and John.

Part 1 is set for release on 23/1/17.
