When I tried to leave this area, even on a No Mercy route, Papyrus stopped me and urged me to stay. For once, though, we were able to spare Papyrus, but if I attempted to kill him (after a few crashes, of course, the fog seems to have affected the games performance) he'd get a phone call just like Toriel, and leave.

Something really weird happened during the initial Dating Tense soul inspection segment. I clicked on all the usual places but none of them would progress the event. Not even the spaghetti under the hat surprise. It played the animation of him talking and his speechbox, but it was stuck there, frozen.
I was beginning to think the game had crashed. I moved my mouse around desperately, to try and find something.
So I moved it over to the right.

...What just happened? When I reopened the game after the crash at the Dating Fight section, Papyrus seemed to be completely missing from his room. Most of Snowdin itself also looked completely bugged, with incorrect, garbled tiles, or areas just completely missing them altogether. Snowdin was also shadowed in complete darkness and fog until I walked into Grillby's, where a cutscene played of Sans continuing to threaten me.
Even if I killed Papyrus, nothing changed - my game froze and I ended up here.
