This is 20 seconds of my heartbeat, recorded at just after 4pm on Saturday February 6th 2010 at the Grand Palais in Paris, as part of 'Les Archives De Coeur' project by Christian Boltanski, part of the 'Personnes' exhibition. It was an awesome show (more http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2010/jan/17/christian-boltanski-personnnes-paris-review). I was amazed at how irregular my heartbeat is.

Since 2005 Christian Boltanski has collected heartbeat recordings around the world. A truly universal project, these Archives Du Coeur will be kept sheltered from the effects of time on the Japanese island of Teshima, in the Inland Seto Sea.

Boltanski; "At some stage some of the heartbeats will be from dead people, so it will be the island of dead people."
