Aux 88’s live performances very much feel like a rousing old-school Hip-hop show. Though the latter certainly has legitimate claims on Aux 88’s sound, so do Techno, Miami Bass, Trip-hop and Funk. Still, the Detroit-based pair never aims to fit a narrow definition, but rather strives to make people dance, by any means necessary.

Inspired by the mighty volcanic Mt. Haleakala in Maui, the track took on several forms over time especially after a bunch of live set variations, but this final version captured the powerful intensity and majestic vibe of hiking up the mountain at dusk, which I'll never forget in this life.

Virginia wears many different musical hats and always has. The Berlin based woman is a DJ, vocalist, song writer and producer who saw chart success early on in her career, as well as receiving underground acclaim for her album Fierce For The Night back in May 2016. She has written music with the likes of Steve Bug, has played a hybrid live and DJ set all over the world and has ties to labels like Ostgut Ton, Dolly Deluxe and Underground Quality. She has also famously provided vocals to some of Steffi’s most classic vocal tracks such as ‘Yours’, so is very much the voice of contemporary house music. 

Her podcast for us is entitled Greetings From My Garden - Music For The Heart Mix and shows off another side to the artist. It is made up of music more suited to home listening than dancing in the club, and features tracks from Massive Attack, Slam, The Orb, plus a new one of Steffi’s forthcoming album on Ostgut Ton. As such it’s a soothing listen of dreamy synths and comedown sounds, deep grooves and selection emotions that is the perfect soundtrack to the last days of summer.

Dave Aju is an internationally-recognized DJ, producer, remixer, sound engineer, vocalist and artist known for his distinctive voice and unique blend of musical styles. Born Marc David Barrite and raised by a respected Cali Jazz-head father, an early peer of Pharaoh Sanders, he soon became an avid young B-Boy and MC in the local Electro and Hip-Hop scenes before eventually finding his niche in the deeper left-field corners of mid-90s Detroit Techno and the global underground House Music movement, channeling all of the above influences into his retro-futuristic DJ sets and productions with a natural passion for dance music history, his Filipino/Ute Indian cultural rhythmic roots, and psychedelic-inspired sonic ingenuity into a raw handmade sound truly all his own.

An expansive discography which garners regular support from musical mentors-turned-fans such as Claude Young, Theo Parrish, DJ QU and Pepe Bradock includes his recently released fifth studio album Glossolalia with The Invisible Art Trio, the homecoming LP TXLAX and the follow-up Ciao Sun EP on Tokyo’s renown Mule Musiq, three previous award-nominated concept albums on Parisian outlet Circus Company, coveted remixes for select elite acts from Nicolas Jaar to STR4TA, celebrated EP releases for labels such as Ostgut Ton, Music For Freaks, and Matthew Herbert's Accidental Records, along with a deep history of notable headlining performances at globally-revered venues from London’s Fabric and Berlin’s Panorama Bar to the Sonar and MUTEK festivals, as well as regular contributions to tastemaker radio platforms like Dublab and Gilles Peterson's BBC shows.
