Six months after releasing the 'Half Light Half Dark' EP, our fellow NY-er and usual suspect here at Delayed, Aspetuck, releases a remix package. The release features incredible talent from around the globe like Adam Strömstedt, Ben Kaczor, Jónbjörn, Sanguine, Forest On Stasys, and Caldera. Each track gives a new life and unique take on Aspetuck's already exceptional originals.

Our premiere for today comes from Lyssna Records founder and KANN affiliate Adam Strömstedt. Adam creates rich atmospheres and complex rhythms that work in perfect balance in his productions, and we see that recipe works magic once again in his take on 'Holding Pattern.'
The track is driven by carefully constructed broken rhythm layered with warm, cosmic pads, which lead to a signature moment of this journey when melancholic minor piano chords create a 'call and response' effect with a catchy tom sequence. This remix is an ideal soundtrack for sunny mornings on a fog-filled dance floor.

The 'Half Light Half Dark' remix package is coming out on March 25th on Bandcamp.

Tom Schauenburg daydreamer, optimist, melodic melancholic musketeer T.Schaui aka B.Rauschung is an artist somewhere between electronic post-punk and experimental pop culture.
Based, raised and living in Leipzig, it all started on his skateboard with a walkman. The breaks between the tracks or songs, constantly getting out of rhythm when pushing because nothing has been curated or summarized in a set yet. So he decided to do just that, tinkering tracks together to let them blend so he could keep pushing the board endlessly. Known as T.Schaui he digs into Techno bit by bit. Beyond techno, he discovered downbeat as B.Rauschung. The artist in his own words: "Music is a condition I strive to achieve.“

Aux 88’s live performances very much feel like a rousing old-school Hip-hop show. Though the latter certainly has legitimate claims on Aux 88’s sound, so do Techno, Miami Bass, Trip-hop and Funk. Still, the Detroit-based pair never aims to fit a narrow definition, but rather strives to make people dance, by any means necessary.

Thanks to Soundcloud we came across a recent mix, which immediately convinced us to invite him to our series. Luckily Jakob was happy to oblige. He told us his mix was inspired by memories of East European internet radio from the 2000s and 1990s Dubtechno, and traces their impact in contemporary music culture. This was the first remix I did that felt like a true lesson and musical undertaking. Dflex was a side project of Darren House aka Diesel and Felix Hopkins on the Tiny Sticks label, and the sound stems were a pure thing of beauty, full of live instrument recordings including some lovely piano and synth work, it was an honor and blessing to have the chance to rework it, and the result was eventually a proper meeting of the minds, bodies, and souls. As always, I used only the sound set from the original track, except for finger snaps and backing vox, but in this special case it was more than enough great material to endlessly work with.

Dave Aju is an internationally-recognized DJ, producer, remixer, sound engineer, vocalist and artist known for his distinctive voice and unique blend of musical styles.
