Soulection recently collaborated with Team Supreme (https://soundcloud.com/beatteamsupreme) for their weekly beat cyphers and put out one of the best volumes to date. Soulection Co-founder Joe Kay chose the sample 'Add the Bassline' from the very talented vocalist/producer Jordan Rakei who hopefully puts out a release with Soulection in the coming months. One of our heavy hitters Evil Needle thankfully participated in the beat cypher and created this amazing remix that ended up being so good that he had to extend it from 1 minute to a complete track. We couldn't help but share this track with you and give you an idea of what's to come.

Bombyce has mixed for us the 13th Sunset Grooves Podcast with an awesome selection of deep groovy disco vibes. You are hooked from the moment the tunes kick off. 

Bombyce first got into music at the age of 5 where he played the tuba. At the age of 11 he bought his first vinyls whilst on a trip to London with the likes of AC/DC, Police and Iron Maiden LPs, which contributed to his journey of exploring all genres and types of music from funk, disco to HipHop. In summary, he has been mixing for 20 years for his own pleasure as well as his friends and he describes himself as just a person who has a huge passion for music.

Sunset Grooves Podcast 013 - Bombyce

Axel Boman broke through in 2010 with his Holy Love EP, released on DJ Koze's Pampa Records. The track Purple Drank became an instant classic in underground house music circles – since then, Boman has toured extensively while releasing original productions and remixes on labels like DFA, Hypercolour, Kompakt, Permanent Vacation and Ovum, as well as on Studio Barnhus, the label he runs together with Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist.

Family Vacation, Boman's debut album, arrives on Studio Barnhus in November 2013.

“I decided to go through the vast collection of ideas and sketches I had on my computer, as a final project before I set that machine on fire and let it all go up in flames. Kind of like what Lee "Scratch" Perry did with The Black Ark in Kingston in the 70's. A friend says the album sounds like “weird Jamaican space disco" so maybe it's a fitting reference”, says Boman himself.

Axel Boman's music has also been described as "raw and playful house music drenched in oceans of soul". He graduated with a master's degree from Valand School of Fine Arts in 2010 and currently lives in the calm and peaceful Stockholm suburb Gröndal.
