iBreaks is proud to present a two-track sampler from Colombo's forthcoming "Station 21" album, our final release for 2013.

On "Station 21" one of Spain's finest producers Colombo explores the full range of sounds from the breakbeat scene's early days.  This sampler gives just a flavour of what to expect from this mighty collection of sounds.

"Part Of Me" featuring rapper/MC BBK has a contemporary feel to it whilst reaching back to the early 2000s for inspiration in sounds and vibe.  Colombo's trademark beats punch through whilst BKK's vocals flow perfectly overhead.  Add a smattering of vocoder vocals, and some clever synth work and you have a dancefloor crowd pleaser with an immense groove.

Flip side  "You Don't Stop", features a big system ravey breaks cut.  The vocal line balances nicely with searing synth sounds and some clever bass work.  This is peak time through and through, and a must have for your headline sets!

Having recently picked up the award for best producer at the international breakbeat awards, iBreaks' star act was also recently garlanded with Beatport's breaks track of the year for Everybody. With a busy touring schedule across Europe and beyond, it's a wonder he's had time to get back in the studio and produce this latest brace of breakbeat bombs.

Keep You Dancing delivers fearsome 80s-style electro synthwork, searing female vocal licks and killer bass, as well as that iconic vocal: "Keep you dancing round and round", before it all drops into a dirty acid line so unexpected and relentless that the bodies will be flying round the room. On the flip rave-fuelled anthem Hanns comes in both breakbeat and dubstep mixes, throwing euphoric synthwork, Colombo's trademark deep atmospherics and electrifying snatches of vocal over tough-as-all-hell bass licks and chunky beats. A double header to confirm the Spanish producer's place right at the top of the breakbeat tree.

Specimen A—brothers Phil and Mo Jones—have today released the 2-song Tomahawk EP on ROTTUN RECORDINGS—Excision’s monster, independent label. On the Tomahawk EP, the duo reemerges with a headfirst dive into their bass roots. From the full-fledged drum ‘n’ bass attack on their track “Slingshot” to the swagger of “Tomahawk,” the Tomahawk EP puts the listener in close quarters combat with an onslaught of bass. Specimen A is a formidable production and DJ outfit with many strings to their bow, synonymous with nothing less than quality. No territory is out of bounds. Be prepared.

Having broadened their sound in 2010, they added dubstep into their repertoire. Making major impressions once more, their huge dubstep remix of Foreigner’s “Cold As Ice” gained great support as did their remix to Bashy vs NAPT’s hit “Make My Day,” which has garnered over 675,000 views on YouTube to date. Continuing on their successes, Specimen A has gone on to capture the number #1 at Beatport for their single “Forgot About Breaks.”

The Jones brothers were born into a family of musicians. Music was passed into their blood through their uncle, 80’s pop star Howard Jones, and classical music training. Developing a love for electronic music, Phil and Mo started producing bass-driven breaks, dubstep and drum ‘n’ bass.

Specimen A started making breaks in 2006 collaborating with Far Too Loud. Early releases “Headcase,” “Contamination,” and “Soldiers At War” won mass praise and support for them. Then in 2009, another breakout year emerged. The duo managed a nomination for Breakthrough Producer at the 2009 Breakspoll Awards—the International Breakbeat Awards—performed at the first Breakspoll Festival in Spain and were featured as guests on mix shows on BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM. Specimen A most recently released the Rock Star EP this past April, a multi-genre project that took the group’s songwriting prowess to a new high and featured an array of electronic music production styles.
