Golden Arrow

One of the most expressive cuts of IN TECHNICOLOR gets a deserved club update with album collaborator ROOSEVELT's revamp of LES DILETTANTES. Originally a slightly no-wavey narrative sporting the idiosyncratic voicework of MIT's Edi Winarni, the track now pushes back its free-form properties for a heavily disco-infused work-out driven by exquisite hooks and a delibarately jam-like mentality. Edi's singing remains largely unchanged, but reveals unexpected glamour within the new context, making this an appropriately flashy addition to IN TECHNICOLOR REMIXE.

MRCR EP is a nice return from ICR to our lovely label. Looking from the music side it has versatility; almost a story-telling piece, sometimes it even tricks you with changes of mood. In all, it's pretty much a colourful listening for those who are into deeper atmospheres on the dance floor, or in the depth of their own with headphones on. 

Coming from a more didactic direction…well, try instead looking out of the box for a second, add the details together to get a wider angle on ICR's inspiration, you might discover a different perspective on his recent music. Hints are (not so) hidden on the cover art, and in track titles. Enjoy!

People often ask me what my favourite dance tracks of all time are, and it's always a difficult question to answer, because most of the time it depends on how I am feeling on that particular day. 
More often than not, 'I Want Your Love' by CHIC is one that comes to mind. It was one of the very first 12" singles I bought (I was 14 years old). 
Now...I know this track has been remixed, remodelled, remade, and re-edited a hundred times. There are versions that I absolutely love, especially the Dimitri From Paris version from a couple of years ago, and of course the Moodymann version from the mid 90's. 
I initially wanted to just do Part 1, but every time I got to a certain point I just wanted to hear THAT whole riff! So, I ended up doing this.

"I've always held the 303 in very high regard, for me it is an integral part of electronic music and
essential component to it's make up.
I can still remember the first time I heard those wild alien acid sounds, it was like someone turning
on a switch! A real 'what the hell is that...' moment, that has stuck with me ever since. My obsession
and passion for electronic music grows every day, and I discover new music and genre pockets all
the time, but I am draw back to the acid sound time and time again. There's is something so
uncontrollable but beautiful about it, aggressive sometimes, emotional at others. In most cases
unique and impossible to listen to in the background. So this is my dedication to the 303, by no
means a definitive 'best of...' but more of an eye opener into this treasured synthesizer."
