It's timely that as Ornate Music reaches its milestone thirtieth release, it introduces another new face to its stable of deep house heavy hitters, that already includes names such as Leif, Miles Sagnia, Jayson Wynters and Dubbyman. All of whom, like new boy here, El Choop, earned their chops in the ranks at respected Welsh festival Freerotation. Unlike those other alumni though, El Choop's pedigree leans heavily on dub techno, as evidenced on previous releases for Default Position and Etui. This latest missive blends the best of both worlds, two crystalline cuts of the deepest house with subtle shades of dub. It's the sound of late-night drives, or stolen closed-eye, post-party moments. Closing out the release, there's a full-side remix of lead cut New Speak from deep house royalty, Nail, who opens up some Basic-Channel like space with a shot of DiY swing. Pure class.

From the collective brain of Craig Smith & Saleem Andrew McGroarty comes a new 'live' outfit called Sound Signals.

Together with keyboardist Stevie Christie, bass-man Cameron Bradley and percussionist Paulo Riddle they served up a deep, warm and jazzy basement house workout. 

In order to increase the musical value we got something special on this version.  Here Craig teams up with his Scottish soul brother Ricky Reid for a remix under their Soul Renegades moniker with a big-stringed late night house fanfare. It kinda reminds us of those tasteful and melodic deep house productions coming out of Italy in the mid/late 90's...think Don Carlos :)

Three Fingerz Musique drops its third release, coming from Underground Quality's Melchior Sultana. 

His 3FM003 is composed of 3 diverse soulful tracks, all recorded live which are set to be played everywhere this winter. The EP opens with 'Healer', an emotional slow jam driven by warm pads and original voices that probably makes you think of Theo Parrish's 'Flower'. Following on is the club oriented 'Story', a straight House track guided by a 4/4 drum machine pattern and permeated with a loved up vibe. The EP ends with the deeper 'Time Can Tell': broken rides, key solos, groovy bass-line.. Jazz!

In its original form, "Fly Away" offers a superb hybrid of both producers' styles, with Javonnte's impassioned vocal and rolling beats working well with Deep88's Larry Heard style chords and bassline. Deep88 gets a chance to explore this avenue further on his dreamy and on-point Adriatic Mix, while Javonnte weighs in with a slightly chunkier Dub. Arguably best of all, though, is the seductive jazziness and soul-flecked deep house positivity of Melchior Sultana's impeccable rework.`
