The Corner Still Breathes continues the Amherst story begun in Atkins Corner Hold, Amherst Wetlands Plea, and Amherst Election Anthem. After Archipelago Investments withdrew its plan for a 262-bedroom complex near Atkins Market, the town felt a quiet sigh of relief. This song reflects that moment — when the fields remain open, the wetlands endure, and Amherst remembers that real growth begins with listening.

Past Atkins Market's amber glow,
Three new towers once were drawn in line,
But the roots ran deep through oak and pine.
