Cruelty Paradox is a new album by ULTRA, blending sounds ranging from EBM to electronic music. It is strongly inspired by cinema, drawing from the mood and imagery of films such as Substance (2024), A Trip to the Moon, Un Chien Andalou, and Jaws.

The album explores contrasts: violence and beauty, instinct and abstraction, expressed through sound. All tracks were produced, composed, and mastered by ULTRA. The cover features her original artwork titled Paul Griffin.

The opening track, "Body Horror", was directly inspired by Substance, and marks the beginning of ULTRA’s fascination with the body horror film genre.

The next mix in the Hybrid Moment x Egor Strelkov series is crafted by Béllis — a DJ from Zaporizhzhia and founder of the Hybrid Moment collective and label.

"In this mix, I continue to explore new facets of my musical taste, delving deeper into old-school sounds. I increasingly notice that the era of electronic music I love is coming to an end — everything is shifting toward simpler forms and rhythms, familiar melodies, and playing with pop culture. I really want to preserve something complex and offer listeners something different — deeper, sometimes strange, but always original."

DTP#46 - Egzotikka

Egzotikka is the project of Osvaldas Bertašius, a Lithuanian artist based in London. Working somewhere between minimal electronics, post-punk, cold wave, and lo-fi EBM, often using analog machines, dusty drum boxes, tape hiss, and his own voice.
He runs the META MOTO label and radio show, for us an absolutely safe bet for cold wave, post punk and obscure electronics and has released music on Detriti Records and Raw Culture just to name a few, both solo and in collaboration (most recently with Shaknis).

For this mix he went fully 7-inch vinyl, all of them chosen with great care. Moving between minimal wave, post-punk, EBM, lo-fi electronics, synth stuff, between cold and anxious, slow and broken, but always a bit clingy and raw. Enjoy.
