Ecstatic dance and progressive psytrance are united as Praxis takes dancers on a journey through soundscapes of the 7 chakras. Beginning with the foundational, grounded energy of the root chakra, then building in momentum to the creative sacral chakra. The first ecstatic crescendo crests in the solar plexus chakra, the powerhouse where source and willpower converge. The second wave begins in the emotional depths of the heart chakra, then building in momentum to the power of breath and speech in the throat chakra. The momentum crests in the energy of third eye chakra, with renewed awareness, perspective and acceleration. The flow begins to subside in the crown chakra, with wisdom and intuition settling like a crown on the mind. 

This praxis project has been in the works since 2008, when I took an ecstatic dance workshop series with Luna Ravenchild and DJ Solus. It featured music and energy movement according the 7 chakras. The seed of an idea was planted do something similar, but with progressive psytrance instead. My renewed interest in ecstatic dance over the last two years has promoted the resurgence of this idea. It was awesome to lead the dancers on a progressive journey at Solaris 5, jamming along to the beats with my djembe drum.
