Dave Shichman

Tally G (San Diego), behind the decks off and on for the past two decades, is known for her diversity as a (mostly) drum and bass DJ, seamlessly blending jungle, footwork, juke, and neurofunk, among other subgenres, most notably deep, dark, techy minimal DnB. Every set is a journey, told through a combination of long, thoughtful transitions, skillfully quick mixing, and energetic double drops guaranteed to get bodies moving and gun fingers popping. She is one half of Hologynic and one half of Tex n Bass. She holds residencies with Boomslang Recordings (USDNB), Siren Project (NYC), Proper Chicago, The Distinguished (CO), Syncopation (AZ), and THC Kru (USDNB). Tally G is also on the board of directors for Siren Project, an all female identifying collective dedicated to providing safe spaces for trans-, non-binary, and cis-women performers who raise funds for various nonprofit organizations. She has played around the United States and is currently learning music production.

Pulling one from the archives for this months podcast and it’s a live mix taken from Break Thru earlier this year in March.  

We landed at the venue fresh from an ALL day rave in Bristol, so I was in full on party mode by the time we arrived Hare & Hounds for the event.  We’d made a bunch of new friends on the train, even dragged a few of em along for the rave too.  We we’re talking about all things dnb on the journey back to brum and were all so engrossed in conversation a couple of our new firends even missed their stop!!!

Whilst a little rough around the edges, this mix fully captures the vibe we we’re all on that day.  Loads of classic liquid dnb bangers with a healthy dose of rollers!!

February 2024 D&B Mix (Part 1)

Part 2 of my February 2024 D&B Mix, starting with the same track Part 1 ends with, they are meant to be played back to back. Part 2 has some really weird funky new tunes, crunchy steppers, a few classics, deep rollers and the occasional vocal tune. So much great music out right now! This is similar to the set I played last week opening for Rohaan X Craze, so it gets heavy but never too big.
