In 2008, British-born techno pioneer Richie Hawtin plucked 17 producers from obscurity and featured their work on a special newcomers compilation.

For many of them, it was their debut release on Hawtin's respected Minus label. For all of them, it was a major opportunity for their electronic music careers.

With the backing of such a formidable DJ as Hawtin, much speculation was made about the possible futures of these young and talented producers. Out of the 17, it is arguably Glasgow-based producer and DJ Gary Beck who has made the most impact so far.

In the three years since 'Richie Hawtin Presents Sounds From Can Elles', Gary Beck's music has reached many of techno's most respected labels including Slam's Soma Records, Len Faki's Figure, Nic Fancuilli's Saved Records, Speedy J's Electric Deluxe, and Sven Väth's Cocoon.

Beck has also DJed at some of the world's most important dancefloors like Tresor and Berghain in Berlin, Amsterdam's Awakenings, London's Ministry of Sound, Glasgow's Sub Club, and Chicago's Smart Bar.

And perhaps most impressively of all, Gary Beck's set at Scotland's Rockness festival in June 2010 was broadcast as an Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1, an important milestone for any serious dance music performer.

But what is the secret to Gary Beck's ongoing success? Why has he progressed further than any of the other 16 Richie Hawtin-backed producers ?

"People really started to take notice of me when Minus released 'Consumed'," says Gary Beck. "It was a big surprise when Richie called asking to sign the track. I was always confident that something was going to happen with my tracks but this release was more than I expected at the time. It gave me extra belief in my productions."

The release, Gary Beck says, was like a catalyst and pushed him ever deeper down the production hole. But rather than try to replicate the 'Consumed' formula, Beck concentrated on finding his own sound, not that that is ever an easy task.

"Finding my own style has probably been the toughest challenge of my career," he says. "There is so much music out there, I had to be unique. I wanted to create a sound that people would instantly recognize as a Gary Beck production."

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!

MadTech Records returns early November with ‘The Resistence’, a three-tracker coming courtesy of UK act Skapes. 
Alex Calver aka Skapes has been releasing a steady stream of his UK focused house and bass music over the past few years with projects such as Twocker alongside Low Steppa, Calvertron and also under his own name. Now though it’s his Skapes guise taking precedent and his project has seen him release on Mark Knight’s long running Toolroom and also Simma Black amongst many others. This time round though we see Skapes joining the roster of MadTech Records with some fresh new material. 
Stepping up first on the package is ‘Drop The Needle’ a high-octane slice of contemporary house led by vacillating subs and shuffled 909 drums alongside expansive synth swells and an amalgamation of vocal cuts. 
Title track ‘The Resistence’ follows and retains a similar bass fuelled aesthetic with rumbling low end, soft synth shots and 4/4 rhythms running with delayed bass hits and low-pitched vocal lines. ‘Bring It Back’ then rounds out the package, laying the focus on percussion this time via snare rolls, spiralling delayed vocal lines and Skapes’ signature snaking sub bass hook.

To top it off we at Yin yang have enlist the creme de la creme of techno producers, so making it completely complete and completed, competently..

The biggest artist ever on Yin Yang is Alen Milivojevic (teaming up with Drzneday). This is quite simply the biggest baddest techno remix they have ever created EVER. The biggest track to ever come out of Eastern Europe. Jesus!! (in a religious way).. WOW

Hell Drivers remix is on par for being a bad ass huge Super Techno remix bomb.. France has just created a bigger bomb than North Korea!! Another super wow.

TKNO is back on Yin Yang too, pairing with new lad Jack Doe and this is also beautiful created. Bang on..

Adam Beyer’s Drumcode is growing from strength to strength, year after year, with a non-stop release schedule showcasing both the labels new and most established artists with cutting edge techno beats. Drumcode’s youngest rising star, Layton Giordani, exploded on to the scene after his debut album “Where It Begins” back in February, after scoring some of the biggest festivals in Europe this summer, he now returns with an exciting collab titled “Live Again”.
