You'd be surprised how great this sounds with the a capella of "Two of Hearts" (Stacey Q), which I just happened to have playing in another app as I started playing this track. Very nice track, btw. I'm always down for some dense, droney washes.

This was an early demo using a Oberheim OB-1, TR-606, the first CDJ deck Technics SLP1200 with scratching ability and the brand new ProTools system at KUCB Radio.  This is from around 1994.

Jack Frost's Ice

Wow, this is an oldie but goodie, probably 1993 or 1994 timeframe.4moV10 was the name on the old DAT...stood for 4 months, version 10.Originally sequenced in Cakewalk 3 and Drummer 2 using a Sequential Circuits Prophet 10, Sequential Circuits Pro One, Moog MiniMoog, Arp 2600, Moog MemoryMoog, Roland JX-10, Boss SE-50 and Roland R-70.This was my first band with Thane Barrett and I.We only did 2 other tracks, one was the Jack Frost's Ice and the other is still to be found (on an old cassette somewhere).After this track we decided to go our own ways and I started Obliq, Diode, then Multicast of Obliq Recordings.There's you a history lesson; you've been schooled!  Thanks to Lucas Hilbert for the guitar on this track!

Neurotricity - FOMOVTEN

Wow, found this one on an old cassette tape marked "Human Interference".  Thought it was a mixtape at first, but upon listening I recognized it, I'm guessing 1994 or so.  Made in Drummer 2.0 (what a great program) this was one of my first tracks I composed and it predated Obliq/Diode material.  I was really into trance at the time.  Probably used the Roland R-8, Roland Juno-106, and Oberheim Matrix 6.

This was a great track with a heavy Detroit 313 theme!  Lots of analog synthesizers and goodness.  Probably around 1994 timeframe.

Neurotricity - 313

This one goes way back; probably to 92 sometime, when I started to assemble a home studio at 1060 Ithaca in Boulder (some of you are probably very aware of that property! :).This was one of the first (if not THE first) track that I finished in the new home studio; and something I'm still proud of to this day.
Several things going on here...first, the Sequential Circuits sounds literally sick; I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this synthesizer!I employed a trick on the R-8 for the cymbals that I still yearn for today (and can't easily reproduce on my current gear), and the delay on the Roland SH-101 bass synth-line is echoed in the Korg tape delay that introduced me to Larkspur (where I bought it)...which is now home due to that "shopping trip"!I used Drummer 2.0 and discovered a trick to change the tempo of the track without changing the actual tempo of the track...gotta love pattern based sequencers!
And finally, the cool palindrome nature of the whole thing!

Started with DJing Middle School dances back in the early 80s with my dad's rockin' system and dual cassettes.Received my first Moog for my 16th birthday.Started formal DJing in 1988 (went to 96) at KUCB
radio (pre-1190) in Boulder.First club gig was biweekly at Club 156/Quigleys in Boulder and did this for years.DJed many parties and events through the radio station, and also many house and underground parties as the "rave" scene developed.
In 1991 was resident at Boulder's Express Club and in 1992-96 was resident at Boulder's Marquee Club.Ordered vinyl for Albums on the Hill's DJ shop in the 90s as well.

In 1994 started the band Neurotricity and performed several gigs and had a couple of studio tracks released.This all led up to being the co-founder of Multicast and Obliq Recordings in 1996 and have continued with projects on this imprint to date with distribution in Germany, UK and Japan.We are on over 30 releases with 120+ tracks all available for free at the mothership <a href="http://obliq.net" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://obliq.net</a>.
