VGM Academy 21 Days Challenge - All Songs from Day 1

Themes

For today I did an ambience track for underwater exploration, inspired by the "Deep Dive" prompt.

Featuring my housemate on the whale sounds!

Underwater (atmospheric)

I listened to Bergalicious​Def's https://soundcloud.com/bergaliciousdef/a-stretch-in-the-dark-of-night, and loved the sound so much that I've tried their approach and reworked a day one composition using Paul stretch.

This uses PaulXStretch on my day 1 composition https://soundcloud.com/daveallenbpm/day-1-tunic-trailer-rescore and I've added a few orchestral instruments (and a loooooot of reverb), trying to evoke a huge space with this ambient track.

For this one, I tried emulating the Nier: Automata soundtrack, which I'm pretty obsessed with at the moment.

This had been laying around for ages, so I needed to get around to finishing it up anyway. This was the perfect time to do it!

Dim Light

Quick piece for a player getting a major upgrade. I had a cutesy retro platformer feel in mind for this.

Some ideas for a piece in the style of snail's house. Not much time today, so a bit of an abrupt end!

Space Station Lobby

Working with the "Uni-pitch" today, I made a little disco track with chippy little one-pitched lead.

I found this one pretty tough! You'll notice that I cheated a little, with the pitch rolloff on parts of the melody. The last section makes use of octaves as well.

I enjoyed this one! Wish I'd had a little more time to play with the uni-pitch idea.
