This Road

A late-night confession wrapped in warm synths and soft low-end. “We Can’t Say Goodnight” lives in that neon hour where you swear you’ll leave…but don’t. Velvet vocals, lingering bass, and slow-burn drums hold the moment just past goodbye fingertips on the doorframe, eyes saying stay. It’s lust, but it’s also mercy: letting the night breathe a little longer.

“Headlights and Halos” is a Southern rock-blues anthem about redemption on the open road. Gritty guitars, highway thunder, and heartache collide as Frost Livingston sings about finding light in the darkness — chasing salvation between the lines of asphalt and sin. It’s a song for late-night drives, broken souls, and anyone who’s ever prayed behind the wheel.

The one and only Mr. Lee Fields is back with another instant classic sure to wrap the world up in love and soul. The A side, “It Rains Love”, is the amuse-bouche in the listening experi- ence for Lee’s 5th studio album backed by The Expressions. With a rhythm track that sounds like it could belong to any of the lasts 4 decades, Lee floats on top with his raw yet honeyed vocals and imparts simple but thoughtful wisdom the way only Lee can.
The B side, “Will I Get Off Easy”, is a mid tempo ballad that stays true to the music that has made Lee a household name in the soul community. Hard-hitting drums, pretty chords, sweet group backgrounds, and Lee’s tough as nails vocals create a perfect storm that will satisfy any soul junkie looking for a fix.
The full length is produced entirely by Leon Michels and due out in April of 2019.
