"Quiet Storm" Freestyle

I love impressionists (that's why Claude Monet is on the cover) and wanted to explore the same Impressionism in music. There is no single apring, all shorter strokes and drops. Rather hues and hints. The Shadows if you will :) 

Other challenge, I indulged myself was to make this SYNTH-phony, using only MOOG sounds. It was so tempting to play guitar or strings or flute. I wanted to stay focus played my favorite Arturia MiniMoog, Moog Modular, and AniMoog. Otherwise one piano, percussion made in Korg Gadget, produced in Ableton Live 9 with IK Multimedia mastering tools.

 I extracted this quote from Robert Moog, greatly respected engineer and artist of sound, from his interview available on YouTube:

"It is something between discovering and witnessing" - Robert Moog

Some parts, like the wobbly/slides/something sounds you can distinctly hear in the into, I played by hand and ear on AniMoog. This is the iPad app invented by Moog Foundation. You slide over iPad surface to design and create unique vibes and sound colors. I know, if there is someone thinking to "throw a tomato" at the iPad musicians, please prepare one for maestro Jean-Michael Jarre, he-he :D  I'm not placing myself anywhere close, of course, but was so excited, after played this AniMoog part here, to see the one JMJ video, where he is playing the same app for his number one album of the year! In one of Electronica 1 video you can see the iPad on the right, green-ish look of AniMoog. 

The cover art is a fragment of Claude Monet "Water Lilies", 1920s. I took the photo earlier this year, in Museum of Modern Art, New York. I noticed and specifically took a shot of "THE EYES" I saw (see them in right lower corner?). Nice, can spend hours when get a chance. Thank you ALL for the support!

At the beginning of June my grandmother past away, it came right in the middle of a bunch of other real hard stuff I was going though. So as the song says I was sort of numb by the whole thing, I was in disbelief.

I realized that part of the process for me, in dealing with it all would be wright a song about it, that is what I did.

When I was young my grandmother had a Weeping willow tree in the front yard, it would give me such bad dreams. and terrify me.

After the funeral my Father drove use by the house, and though she had not lived there for years, that same tree was still there. This time as an adult it gave me such comfort as I have so many good memories within the walls of the house just beyond the tree.

I hope you like this little song I did. Thanks to all for your support.

Hi dear listener.
This tune is about mind-travelling and descripe the possibility to understand eachother more and more.
We would surely get a better coexistence, if we would concern more about that parameter.
We are able to do a mind-travel by using empathy and imagination combined with a sweet potion of patience!
i bet most of the conflicts between eachother and also the bigger cultural ones are caused by a limited mind, which is not able to travel...

What could be more inspiring for a song than a beautiful fall day with a warm breeze blowing in an open window? Of course, the song should be composed at a relaxed tempo. Japanese instruments, a pan pipe, and bongo drums were added to create the right atmosphere. This song is the debut, for experienced singer and songwriter Alice Weiler, for vocals and assisting with lyrics on my compositions. Throughout this song, Alice sings harmony and multiple layers with her main vocal track. Len Cagle returns to the studio with his tenor saxophone, performing an improvisation at the bridge and playing “over” the vocal track in the second verse. This is the first time that I used an iPad for the initial creative phase of a composition. It was refreshing to have the freedom to compose away from the studio.
