Time to take a trip back to the Windy City. A firm favourite song from Dave Lee’s highly acclaimed ‘Metamorphosis’ album under his AC Soul Symphony alias. This time we’ve pulled in some heavyweight remixes to refresh things up.

The main man Dave Lee has flipped it musically, but still with reference and reverence to Chicago with a deep jackin’ Chi-Town Tribute Mix, slapping a thick 303 front and centre. Up next is the Windy City legend himself, Glenn Underground, with his irresistibly cosmic take, drawing on his deep jazz-funk knowledge. Finishing up is a man we all know and love here at ZR, Opolopo, allowing the heart of the original to refract through his plethora of boogie-funk synth work & studio wizardry.

The Reflex has picked up plenty of fans over the last couple of years with his edits being championed by Nile Rodgers, Kid Creole, Disclosure, Jazzy Jeff, Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco and many others. 

It's not surprising he's getting props, he's turned out some great reworks of classic songs from Stevie Wonder, Madonna and David Bowie 

Here he takes 2 tracks from the last Sunburst Band album and strips them down, making the most of their rich instrumental and re builds them is classic extended disco style.

New York based D.C. LaRue has been recording and performing since 1974 but it was his track “Cathedrals” in ’76 that really got him noticed amongst the heavy weight disco releases of the time.  The double A-side 12" single of "Cathedrals" was one of the earliest commercially available 12" singles and went on to hit number 1 on the Billboard Dance Music Club and Disco Single charts.

Subsequent singles “Overture” and “Indiscreet” both topped out at number 2 on the Billboard Dance Music Club charts and “Indiscreet” became an influential track in the hip hop sampling world.

Fast forward to the present day and armed with digital transfers of the original master tapes, Z Records has commissioned remixes of these classic tracks plus “Let Them Dance” and “Do You Want The Real Thing”.

Released over two limited edition picture sleeve 12’s pressed exclusively for Record Store Day 2018, the remixes come from Idjut Boys, Ron Basejam, Dr Packer, Folamour, JKriv and Joey Negro.
