Vhyce made me. I admit I had my doubts bout God and Christ, heaven, miracles, resurrection and all that. But then my favorite Belgian sent through these tracks. Now I see the light, Vhyce is reborn and shines brighter than ever. 

Not saying that the music he put out before this heartbreaker of an EP isn’t dope, but all the tracks on ‚Fade’ are just divine. Reaching out to 90s house but looking into the future of that exact genre, he creates soulful dirty filthy hi hat and bassdriven music that opens hearts, forces smiles and moves bodies both vertical and horizontal. All 5 original productions do in fact play the rules and they should.

It began in South Africa! A Deep House Sunday session in Johannesburg called ‘Patterns’ was the original inspiration behind this soul-jazz-afro fused collaboration. Returning to Bristol from his 2015 tour in SA, Sean began writing the instrumental idea for what later became ‘Grow’.

Dawn Williams is no stranger to contributing her gifted talents to create songs for the world to think about. With ‘Grow’, Dawn graces us with her inspirational message of hope and self–growth.

Sean McCabe’s ‘Patterns Vocal Mix’ has a solid groove, lush jazzy chords and layered with nice paddy synths – topped off with both beautiful and amazing vocals from Dawn, capturing hearts and taking you on a journey.

Warm Days label boss and Patterns resident DJ, QB Smith, is on remix duty. QB takes the jazz influences to the next level by exploring more syncopated rhythms, complemented by tender harmonic qualities that carefully bed the vocal track.

Add a pumped up dub with a snare pattern set to move your body, and this is most definitely a track that uplifts your soul and makes you want to dance.

Alex Aguayo makes his Pogo House debut with the 90AA EP and serves up two superb slices of Garage House. Track 1 titled ‘90AA’ Alex gives us chopped up vocals that sit on top of wobbly stabs with nice and tight churning bassline that follow into a nice saxophone breakdown making this a contender for a definitive garage house track of 2018. On track 2 Alex turns up the production heat a notch and delivers a sophisticated and classy joint in ‘The Missing Channel’. Think of Jazz club vibes for this and wait for that deep rumbling bassline to kick in before the track winds down with spoken word on a brief breakdown. Alex Aguayo delivers fine production values on both tracks and is another one to keep on your radar.

The now Sweden based Ben Worrall aka Crackazat releases many of his productions through the Local Talk label where the start of 2019 saw him remixing label mates Art of Tones, DJ Spinna, Lay-Far, HNNY for his new album, ‘Magic Touch’.

For this Period Works Vol.2 EP he has gone back into the ZR archives and selected three new accapella’s to create his new productions.

‘Fly Away’ features live keys from Crackazat himself taking the track into his trademark piano house sound. ‘I’ll Be There’ hits the same classic house sound while ‘Some Day’ goes deeper and more laidback with vocal loops and bass groove.

The third release on Transmission Audio Recordings comes from Wolf Cub. He’s previously released on Fat! Records and remixed Maru, picking up support from the likes of James Zabiela, Ben Westbeech and Hackman along the way, the Love High EP sees him kick off 2013 with a bang.

Lead track Love High is a classy piece of house music, with an infectious melody, neat vocal samples and some fizzing percussion all combining to create a true club jam. I’m Gone is trademark Wolf Cub, building and building with gorgeous pads and vocals snippets before falling into an awesome deep groove.

What You Need is another slick cut of lush deep house, complete with lavish chords and some wicked percussion, whilst Kerouac rounds off the EP with more dancefloor ready business. In all it’s a showcase of Wolf Cub’s ability to create classic house music, effortlessly melding simple elements to create something greater than the sum of its parts.
