"The late 70’s soul and funk hymn “I Think I’ll Do Some Stepping (On My Own)” by New York based singer Sandy Barber got reworked for modern vintage requirements. The original version was featured on Sandy Barber’s album “The Best Is Yet To Come.” from 1978 and it’s reconstruction has been done by Opolopo from Stockholm. The dj and producer from Sweden previously appeared on labels like Swedish Brandy Productions, Local Talk, Tokyo Dawn Records or Ebo Records with modern house sounds and a strong soul affection. His currently released work is a classical edit that breathes the emotive energy of a strong base material but should also delight unprejudiced ears and dancing feet, because the art of editing has been done with a keen sense in here. Slight changes and cuts, as well as decently added sounds straightens the original with its musical complexity and different parts into an ongoing late night disco soul pleasure. Very nice! (Jan) "

Random Soul return with a carefully crafted EP, rich in all the trimmings required for any deep house connoisseur. The title track ‘Could Be Down’ rises from a looped vocal sample and kicks in with a driving 90’s organ feel. A pulsing bassline drives this track from section to section as it continues to evolve and pick up energy. It’s a peak-time house essential! 

Next up is ‘This Heart Of Mine’. It is a slightly slower track with a more hypnotic and classic approach. Building sections of chords and melodic stabs help to bring the track gracefully to the soulful piano chords of the breakdown, which transport you to many club situations with hands in the air, waiting for the drop.

On the remix for the title track is Polish groove aficionado, Deeplomatik. Best known for his records on Miguel Mig’s Salted Music, Deeplomatik exercises his expertise in moody, melodic chords to bring his remix of ‘Could Be Down’ towards the light. A brilliant remix with his trademark smooth touch. 

This is an essential EP for any underground house lover.

Three years since Delve Deeper's first release they've brought three of their most popular artists to one release with X Gets the Crest's 'Do Me So Bad' including remixes by Groove Assassin & Cleanfield.

XGTC's original brings his usual production standards with lush pads and strings layering the main sampled elements to bring a soaring, feel-good house track fit for the summer.
