Mix factor questionable but MAN - the music of my 20's. Great!

This is literally the perfect album. I've been looking for an album like this for so long. 

I remember going to see Trouble Funk & Chuck Brown play at the Town & Country Club in Camden in the late eighties and being totally blown away. And from that moment forward, I found myself collected a fair amount of Washington's finest export! This collection has rekindled a former love and introduced me to a number of gems I'd previously not heard.  Best compilation of the year so far for me!  :)

A mammoth and rare retrospective of Washington DC’s spectrum of Ghetto Funk, this collection showcases the visionary side of the GoGo scene while bringing its key artists the modern exposure they deserve.
 
Joey Negro gives us an insight into the vintage rhythms and chiming cowbells as well as the dedicated soul screams that pierce through the retro soul rhythm that gives GoGo its distinctive sound.
