Leftside Wobble - Momentary Synchronicity Part 1 (playing live this weekend at Campo Sancho)

Liz Torres has one of those voices that make so much sense in a sweaty nightclub at 4am. Pure filth but with a sensuality that instigates all maner of lewd behaviour on the dancefloor!. This is probably my favourite track of hers and for the edit I've used the album version, which for me provides a far deeper journey than the 12' mix.

Also, if your around next weekend, I'm DJing on Saturday 26th March at East Village in Shoreditch. Other DJ's on the night include Matt & Jim from Sancho Panza, Stuart Patterson and Freddy Love so it should be a fine evening indeed.

I had planned to post this in the New Year as this first instalment of Dub Disco Deli (recorded in 2008) has never been on SoundCloud, but I decided to upload it today in memory of Terry Hall. His music didn't just awaken me musically, it ignited my political awareness and educated me about the importance of social justice in a manner that was far more tangible than anything I learnt in the classroom. RIP Terry, your spirit lives on. x

Much as I love the Creative Source version of this track, it's the Bill Withers original that rocks me most. As ever the edit's something I've primarily put together for my forthcoming sets, but that may see a limited release some time in the future.

Time Out Magazine London have made the West Side Story after party I'm DJing at a  Critics Choice this Notting Hill Carnival weekend so to celebrate I'm making Pocket Angel available as a free download on WAV for the first time. Only seems apt seeing as I made Pocket Angel with West Side Story promoter Guy Williams.

Time Out Burb - The West Side Story crew return for more Carnival mayhem at their beloved Masons Arms haunt. Once again it'sa two-day affair, and this year there's a 'Wild West' theme, so grab a cowboy hot – or something more imaginative, but please spare us the Native American headdresses – and get dancing tohouse, disco, bass, breaks and techno.

Sunday's line-up features D Ramirez, Hannah Holland, Guy Williams, Dub Pistols' Barry Ashworth and Tery Farley, while Monday's party is led by Leftside Wobble, Terry Farley and Barry Ashworth making their second appearance, plus Guy Williams and more tba. Hit up both days if you think you've got the stamina!

LW & GW - Pocket Angel (Free WAV download For Carnival 2015)

I realised last week that it's 10 years since I started DJing and producing under the Leftside Wobble moniker and it also so happened that one of the inspirations for getting back into music 10 years ago was celebrating his 50th this weekend. So a revival of the Dub Disco Deli mix series seemed apt for the occasion as that was always the series of mixes that stayed most true to the LW unbounded by genres ethos. Really enjoyed putting this one together, hope you dig it too. x

Dub Disco Deli (Anniversary Edition) - 2hr DJ mix

Originally released as a limited Disco 12" on Philadelphia International in 1978; this is a another tease and stretch number which extends the groove into a 7 minutes disco jam. Haven't messed with it too much, just beefed up the rhythm track and extended the groove.

Teddy Pendergrass - Get Down, Get Funky (Leftside Wobble Edit)-320K

Cosmic Boogie asked me to put a mix together for his re-launched blog so I put this edit together as a little exclusive for the mix and thought I'd share it here seeing as the original version (either on Chicago's Gherkin or or Italy's D-Vision) is currently changing hands for £40 plus on Discogs!

Released back in 1991, it's still for me one of the most seductive house records ever...

A few things gigwise for February. As well as the usual bit's at West London's 'The Regent' and East London's 'Big In Japan' night, I'm also playing for the Shameless Disco boy's at The Drop in Stoke Newington alongside rising star Ben Sun, really looking forward to that.

Mondee Oliver - Make Me Want You (Leftside Wobble Edit)

Apologies for my SoundCloud silence of late; a combination of increased workload and and other general complications has kept me away from any studio projects for the last 12 weeks or so, but hopefully things are back on track.

This edit is a very late submission to the DJ History Trax re-edit/remix project (many thanks to Mr Brewster for his patience). It was Jamie Principles first release back in 1985 on Persona records which saw a re-release on Trax in 2000. It's a simple slice and dice affair, no overdubs or such like but hopefully an apt take on the arrangement for current dancefloors.

Also of note, the Pocket Angel/Find A Way 12"  was finally released a week or so ago (on Autodiscoteque) and has been getting support from the likes of Ashley Beedle, Laurent Garnier, Horse Meat Disco, Popular Peoples Front, Pete Herbert, Red Rack’em, OOFT, Downtown Party Network, Marius Vaareid. A couple of things this week made me revisit this edit. Firstly Greg Wilson featured it in a 'Festival Anthems' selection he recently uploaded to Mixcloud - http://tinyurl.com/d6yvsbc - and secondly it was featured in the closing scene and credits to this weeks episode of Mad Men. The combined effect meant that a fair few people have been downloading the version I uploaded here 3 years ago (which was also only available as a low quality MP3), so I thought it apt to give it a 'spit and polish' and make a remastered WAV version available for download. 

Even if you downloaded my original version you should grab this too as the remaster kicks like the proverbial mule!  :)

Tomorrow Never Knows (Leftside Wobble Edit) Remastered WAV

Second edit for DJ History's 'Trax Records' compilation that's coming out this Autumn. This one originally came out on State Street Records in 1987 before being licensed to Trax and to my mind was one of the pivotal Chicago tracks that explored a deeper minimal production style that's been a major influence on 'Deep House' productions ever since.

A three-hour mix from 10 years ago which I haven't until now shared (having only recently discovered a copy, when it was being played at a friends BBQ!). It was recorded at a villa party in Ibiza, timed for the opening parties weekend, and the party itself was celebrating 10 years of similarly favoured soirees. To this day it remains one of the best parties I've played at (playing alongside Lowlifes Michael Cook). With it being a 10 yr anniversary, it's a particularly celebratory set. :)

This ones all about the rhythm track overdubs and subtle filtering. Sometimes an edit needs a very light touch and with a track so perfect this is certainly the case here.

I'm making a selection of personal edits available for download over the next few months to say thank you for the massive support I've seen here on SoundCloud. They're simple edits on classic tracks that I sometimes include in my sets. The first of which is a classic from the early 90's. Aboriginal chants meets disco samples for a tribal house shake down of epic proportions. 

A tad cheesy in places maybe but all the better for it!
