It's safe to say that we love @djsupermarkt's Too Slow To Disco comps at LV HQ, they are always packed full of brilliant tracks from some of the finest producers around. 

Their latest release is number 4 in the their Yacht Disco Edits series and as always it features the cream of the edits world including entries from Vibes4yoursoul, DJ S,Those Guys From Athens, Delfonic, Vigi. As always with this series it's a overflowing with sun soaked perfection, music to sail round the Med to.

Originally released back in 2006 Destination Boogie has been one of ZR's most popular and respected compilations. In fact we recently reissued it on vinyl for the first time. There's a lot of crappy edits out there, we believe these Dr Packer reworks are very worthwhile, well constructed new versions that make the tracks more playable for today's dancefloors whilst retaining their boogietastic musicality.

 

Since the album was released the whole edit culture has exploded so we thought it would be a nice idea to get one of the best, Dr Packer, to rework four of the most danceable cuts from the album.

 

We at ZR HQ think he's done a great job on these.

One of the killer vocal cuts from the Opolopo album, “Candy Coated Perfection” feat. Sacha Williamson gets a stunning revamp from Dave Pezzner. 

There is so much supposedly "deep" house out there at the moment but we feel these remixes really deserve the description. The way he combines the full song with a warm techy bass heavy track works beautifully. 

Also included are 2 more dubwise mixes, an extended mix from Opolopo himself and DeejayKul's rework of "The Best" feat. Colonel Red.

Hitting the music press headlines recently was news of a second Floorplan album.  Now M-Plant delivers a first taste of this highly anticipated release with two tracks from the album, ‘Music’ and ‘Tell You No Lie’.

Floorplan is already well known as Robert Hood’s house, disco, funk and gospel outlet, which this year evolves into a family affair with co-production alongside his daughter, Lyric.  ‘Victorious’ will be the second Floorplan album and follow-up to 2013’s ‘Paradise’ which spawned ‘Let’s Ride, ‘Baby Baby’ and the massive ‘Never Grow Old’.

Set to replicate the success of ‘Paradise’, ‘Victorious’ will be released in June.  To precede it, the single released at the end of April is comprised of the bumping house groove of ‘Music’ (which received it’s first global airing on B.Traits’ BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra show in February) and the disco rotations of ‘Tell You No Lie’. 

Both tracks are exceptionally infectious, with tough beats, glorious vocal reprises and sure not to disappoint.

Floorplan - Tell You No Lie (preview)

Vinyl copies of the Remixed With Love Vol.2 albums have pretty much sold out everywhere but in support of Record Store Day this Saturday 16th April, Z Records are releasing a limited edition (500 copies) hand numbered 12” vinyl RWL Vol.2 sampler.

This 12 features a new, unreleased remix, an unreleased Dub and one of the tracks from the RWL Vol.2 album that didn’t make it on to the vinyl LP release.

It’s unlikely any of these will be available through the ZR website and there will not be a digital release so check with your local record shop to see if they will be stocking this.

'We’re really happy to be announce the debut Freerange release from French multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer Laroye. Even though he has releases dating back to 2002 (for the excellent Faces label run by Pablo Valentino) it is fair to say Laroye has really hit his stride in the last couple of years, gracing the likes of Visions Inc, Tiff’s Joints and Magic Black with percussion-heavy house jams with warmth and soul. 

Lead cut ‘Be The Change’ is an exceptional track featuring the vocals of Carlos Mena aka Casamena of Ocha Records fame. With a doff of the cap to the grandmasters Ron Trent, Joe Clausell and Louie Vega, ‘Be The Change’ takes a soulful approach with Laroye getting deep on his analogue synths and heavy on the live percussion. The end result is a sublime slice of uplifting house which comes loaded with a positive message and stays true to the roots of the music that we love so much. In addition to the amazing full length original mix, Laroye has treated us to both an instrumental mix as well as a brilliant percapella version which strips things back to the bare bones for a tribal workout that can’t  fail to get your body spinnin’ like a whirling dervish.

Closing the EP we have another original track entitled ‘Twisted’. A no holds barred shuffling groove keeps things bumping along while Laroye gets to work on his modular machines, sculpting and shaping the tones whilst the neck snapping bounce keeps the energy bubbling perfectly. Rocking on an old school tip but with a contemporary twist, this reminds us a little of the Detroit Swindle tracks from a few years ago which is no bad thing.'
