With this EP we bring an homage to 'Dikke Ronny'. He was pionearing with a new choise of music, to create moods instead of poppy sing alongs. He was an inspiration to many, and without him, electronic dance-music would not have existed as a genre. And maybe this EP does not reflect the sound of that era, it is a dark moody escape from our poppy reality. Le Phenomene De 33 + 8 is an acid stomper, with agressive sounding synths. A blend like pure coffee in the morning to get you on the road. As horrible the news came in about the fire in the "Notre Dame de Paris", "Le FantÙme" (the ghost) is hiding now in the dark corners of your club. Again it is a dark moody acid stomper, with even more dark agression of synths who will haunt your floor. Power of the Darkness (La Symphonie Noire), says it all. This track is original will be featured in upcoming Fashion Victims Volume 4! Closing this EP we do together with Tasmara in the Acid Venom Mix of 'Into Darkness'. This ultimate diva plays with familiar sounds and a huge attitude. Your floor will become a devils playground, your floor will be on fire! One of the most influential electronic music artists that France has produced, David Carretta returns to The Hacker & Gesaffelstein’s ZONE Records with his new EP, ‘Land of Sin’. Featuring 5 tracks of hard edged electro, analogue techno and retro-futuristic synth workouts, ‘Land of Sin’, shows that 21 years on since his debut release Carretta is still at his creative best.

Setting the tone ‘Land of Sin’, draws upon Electro, Techno, New Beat, EBM and Italo Disco to create a grinding, sleazy club classic, the soundtrack to sweat dripping off black rubber walls. Upping the tempo ‘Smash’ draws a direct parallel between classic early ‘90s Trance and early ‘00s Electroclash, bringing new life back to both genres.

‘Station to Station’ meanwhile sees Carretta in cosmic mode, a classic Electro rhythm underpins a weightless melody that recalls the likes of both Kraftwerk and classic early ‘90s electronica.

Then having let us catch our breath Carretta pulls us right back onto the dark heart of the dancefloor with ‘System’, six bruising minutes of Industrial Techno, before ending with a final Electro flourish with the brooding and oppressive ‘Transcontrol’.

Making his debut in 1993 of the seminal Harthouse label, as Calyptol Inhalant, David Carretta has gone on to release 4 albums, over forty EPs, more than 50 remixes and DJ’ed and performed live all around the world. Along the way Carretta inspired DJ Hell to launch International Deejay Gigolos, the label that would reshape electro in the final years of the 20th century and has provided a similar inspiration to the new wave of French electro artists of the ‘00s.

Established in 2009 by The Hacker and Gesaffelstein, ZONE Records has gone on to provide a home for some of the most exciting names in electronic music today including the likes of Djedjotronic, Maelstrom and Jon Convex.

Techno and Pleasure. Here are the two best words to describe my music. I am an indie artist, DJ, producer and promoter.

Born in Nancy in 1983, I discover the electronic music in 1996 with the first album of the famous Daft Punk « Homework ». The track « Rollin’ & Scratchin’ » is my first Techno favorite. Then in 1998, Pills releases its second album (the third for those who knows...) « Electrocaïne »: I fell definitely in love with Techno. I start to listen a lot of Techno mix especially a guy named Laurent Hô.

We are in 2001, Dave Clarke releases his extremely popular « World Service », a two mixes CD, Techno & Electro. Absolutely seduced by the le DJing, I will buy the vinyls of the same album even if I did not have turntables at home yet!!!

I will buy them quickly and start to mix at the Mezcalito, an Open DJ Techno bar in Nancy. I also made dozen of free / rave parties. I organize with some friends our first events and I start to make music on Yamaha RS7000.

We are now in 2004, the dawn of the Psychoquake Sound System. I am this year the happy father of a little Lilou! Unfortunetaly, she will be diagnosed as a Rett Syndrom girl (a genetic brain disease) : I stop the music, I have, of course, another priority.

I am still buying some vinyls (that I do not play!) and keep an ear on the Techno scene. 2017 starts, things have changed and got some time now. My brothers in arms from the Psychoquake Sound System give me my first two dates: playing for the public is still a chance and a pleasure.

In 2019, I am playing for the first time in Germany thanks to Raph and Björn and I discover the Japan with Bruce Mennel. I will play alongside international and established artists such as Alex Bau, Marco Bailey, Vitalic.

Love has also entered the dance! Talented DJane, Alice Ayka and I create « Adan & Rave » to produce emerging artists, our own music and to share our passion and vision of the Techno Culture.

But the COVID crisis strikes. The scene misses me a lot but it is the time to back into music production and sound design. I rewrite my old tracks made on the RS700 and collaborate with Eric Sneo who make the mastering of these tracks.
