A mix created from fragments created in AVSynthesis. The sounds are all made with Csound-based instruments designed by Jean-Pierre Lemoine. Four primary synthesis methods are used - a matrix modulation synth, an analog design, an implementation of the VOSIM synthesis method, and an implementation of the CHANT synthesizer. The mix was made with Mixbus on a Linux system, remixed with Bitwig for Linux.

"Flor de Venus...
Flor sin canon, sin previos, sin igual;
flor extraña, asimétrica, estelar... 
Flor que escondida se halla
más allá, mucho más,
del pubis -Monte de Venus-,
de la costilla de Adán.

Flor de Venus..., la siempre amor. 
La flor hembra, y la hembra flor.
Flor sexual, sin prejuicios ni recato...,
sin pecado original.
Flor deseo que desea
la luz..., que no alumbrará,
la que en pétalos clítoris
cerrados, contraídos de par
en par, custodia como si cofre,
en extrema castidad.

¡Mas rompe su vestidura!
¡El burka no aguanta más!!!
Lacios pétalos caídos
desfloran su intimidad,
y Venus canta victoria
con cetro descomunal
-sus dos trompas de Falopio-,
todo principio y final
de esta perita en dulce,
de este planeta a tomar...

Será una guerra en tablas,
para volverla a jugar,
sin vencidos ni victoria,
sin "caídas" nunca más,
con un cañón que acaricie
hasta la llave encontrar
y hallar la entrega absoluta,
con placer, y en libertad,
bajo la brisa que suena...,
que ahora, sonando está...

Tormenta de espuma blanca,
espuma blanca de mar,
nebulosa que in crescendo
no contiene su bramar...,
y a tu orilla, Flor de Venus,
viene con su crepitar.
La voz de un ángel susurra
como en misa, su cantar,
entre pájaros a coro
con metálico trinar,
y otros ángeles caídos,
que en ráfagas, en zig-zag,
contradicen su palabra:
"Vuela..., déjate llevar..."

Se abren las puertas del cielo
mientras nos envuelve Bach,
y el jardín de las Delicias
la bienvenida nos da
entre cortinas de hiedra,
campanillas..., y azahar,
y en cascada los acordes
vienen, brillan..., y se van
fugaces,
despacio...,
en frecuencias de cristal,
forte, piano..., cayendo
en picado.
La niebla crece y se espesa
con transparencia fugaz.
Notas-gemidos de hembra
surcan el espacio ya,
y hasta Ulises, sus oídos,
tapa al hipnótico metal
de cantos de dulces sirenas...

La sensualidad reina en la pieza
que se deja acariciar.
Sonido y Escultura se funden 
haciendo el amor...
Guerra y paz...

"Un parpadeo de AGUA
crepita, buscando el sueño
de un mago artista escultor,
en rizado contorneo.
        
La vida empezó en el mar.

Férreos estratos de TIERRA
en letales yacimientos,
partidos,
a trozos,
esperan dar forma al sueño.
       
 La vida empezó en el mar.

El cielo arrojó su FUEGO
sobre el yacente metal,
y en el taller del océano
bajo chirriante aparejo...
brota, gigante, el Coral.
        
La vida empezó en el mar.

Su aliento se lo dio el AIRE
con la marea in crescendo...
Y a tempo danzan sus brazos
en perpetuo movimiento.
Esencya de Coral
forjan los cuatro elementos.

The title of the piece is the same as Indian raga Shrî, which signifies lethargy, melancholy, tenderness, love, spirituality, and is also a call for evening prayer. The harmony is based on the same raga scale. The rhythm is based on a change of timbre and pitch by creating different layers of pulse, dynamics, and micro-changes rather than structured rhythmical patterns. The electronics support the score in such a way that it creates smooth, almost imperceptible transformations from one timbral layer to another. Throughout the piece, the harmony expands by pizzicato notes that create new timbral/pitch layers. These disappear or merge from one layer to another until it grows into one soundscape.
The work was commissioned by the Thames festival Trust. The World premiere was performed by ensemble Apartment House on 18 September, in Tower Bridge, London, in 2019.
The work is dedicated to Apartment House.

DISORDER / RESONANCE 3

BhUtadhAtrI in Sanskrit language means “sleep, earth and supporter of being”.

This composition uses two different systems: the first is based on a dense textile weave that determines a strict, logical structure, moving from the highest note to the lowest of the trumpet; the second is based on the harmonics and overtones of the changing chords produced by the first system. The harmony is based on perfect intervals – perfect fourth, fifth, octaves – that are de-tuned by overlapping microtones, resembling the drones of Indian music. The two systems are woven together into a monolithic soundscape that develops from quiet to loud, overlapping different patterns as the music grows from a few notes into an enormous chord.

The work is commissioned by the contemporary music festival “Gaida” and Lithuanian Composer’s Union.

The world premiere was performed on 19 October in 2018 by the Lithuanian Ensemble Network, conducted by Vykintas Baltakas. Trumpets: Laurynas Lapė, Aurimas Jankevicius, Andrius Stankevicius, Linas Rupšplaukis, and Vilius Surdokas.
