A part of the mid-'80s London soul scene with his friend Jazzie B (Soul II Soul), Kid Batchelor began working in house tracks  during his DJ sets at the legendary Hedonism club nights. In the late '80s he recorded with Keith Franklin (KCC) as Bang the Party.

Simon Sim's & Tymers & Luny - Freedom (DJ Eef)

Paying tribute to clubs like Quadrant Park, Venus, Shellys, and of course The Hacienda, this mix is a selection of dance floor bombs from roughly 1990 - 92. This was a time before DJ's stuck to playing one genre of music throughout a set, instead often fusing together house, techno, rave and breaks all in the same 60 minutes.

This golden era of electronic music also coincides with my very first 12" dance record purchased in 1990, Moby: Go.
