"That Night" is a sultry, smokey affair with just the right amount of energy in it's laid back groove to give the track emotion, but also enough energy to work hard on the dance floor. So two weeks ago BBC Radio 1Xtra invited me down to Maida Vale studios to collaborate with six other artists as part of the BBC Introducing project. In the space of one day a brand new track was born and it was my job to remix this track. This is what it sounded like…

Recent signing Metrik crashes onto the Hospital release schedule with this immense self-titled EP. Hot on the heels of his Essential Mix for BBC Radio One, Metrik has forged a reputation for producing top-notch peak time tunes with catchy hooks and uplifting vibes a-plenty.

Kicking off with "Break Of Dawn", Metrik takes no prisoners as the tune drops with vocals from Dynamite MC into a cacophony of souped up synth work with plenty of fun factor. This is an explosive dancefloor banger that is guaranteed to cause a ruckus. Next is "Out Of The Fire" with its undulating melodies and euphoric, rippling synths, which will have hands in the air across the world.

Hot on the heels of this comes sci-fi inspired "Solar" with its bleepy, spaced out intro, distorted builds and pounding drums. Last but by no means least Metrik takes us on a voyage of discovery to the incredible "Distant Shores" which brings the EP to a resounding close with its epic soundscapes, progressive structure and blissed out instrumentation. "Distant Shores" is a unique way to round off a solid statement of intent from a young producer, marking his ascension to the prime time.

The "Metrik" EP showcases his musically expansive, techy sound across four incredible tracks, which will impress, move and energize their audience in equal measure.
