In a common work, we all consider together how our little paradise in the infinite space might be lost. Lost to humanity and all other life that exists here, but many species of which are already extinct. Can it really be our serious meaning, that we would rather wage war and continue to lay waste, the only place we have?

    We suck the frozen coldings from our sullen solitary moon,
    Amplify the brazen boilings of our searing prodigal sun.
    And sway in time to catastrophe's wooden tune:
    We're a human race, that's on the run.

    We had it all, those fabled milky promised lands,
    Bestowed as nature's gifted dowry fair.
    We lifted precious gold and girt of flowery nectar in our hands
    Did cast it freely to the dirt with ne'er a fleeting care,
    As naked, baked and frozen now we stand.

    Long forfeited of the right to resolutely lead and boldly fight
    Stripped of creed we kneel and plead forgiveness of the case.
    Craving of the honest light, we darked the day and spliced the night
    In which this spinning world that lies defiled, desolate, exploited and debased
    Decries of natural justice, just as biblical endings loom in sight.

    No reverse gear, no button for rewind.
    Planetary cycles flip to comical haywire.
    And chaos smiles upon the dross of humankind,
    Shuddering alternate from arctic frost to forest fire.
    Deftly rendered senseless, crippled, deaf and dumb and blind.
    The environmental trust we cast to dust, fair repayment, done in kind,
    No future generations will need our crushing legacy to them remind,
    The penitential moral cost
    Of the Paradise we owned and Lost.
