Floating Island

An exploration of the Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda  moments of growing up -  all the moments of choice and circumstance that defined us, isolated us, made us angry and caused us to be misunderstood. Does who we were define who we will be?  
Shyling is the word Keith used to explore the young person trapped by insecurity and fear. Despite lurking on the fringes of life  through the rebelliousness of our teen and younger adult years, there is always the hope of a page being turned in the book. "Keep on shining," despite of, or because, of who we were and who we are now. The book of life is certainly a more interesting read because of our struggles. Perhaps we just need to reconcile with our past, talk to your younger self, give him/her a hug, tell him/her that you understand their struggles and there is no blame assigned. Then turn that page and live in the now.

Pulled from the archives, Julie Evans brings the Blues to her exquisite violin playing in this cover of the famous Arthur Hamilton song.  I had the privilege of backing her up with acoustic guitar and bass.  Remastered from a cassette tape recorded in 1997. This an another one of those semi-live recordings. We took an initial iPhone recording of mine that was meant to be a simple test run and decided to keep it as the base to which Nat added her lovely harmony vocals and piano. It’s a very gentle, quiet love song that expresses how our deeply personal core is really one with nature, with God, where only the truest of spirits can find a home to share in love. The pine trees know and the dawn reveals such truths.
