Swedish singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Sailor & I, real name Alexander Sjödin, eschews easy classification, but it’s because he’s a unique work of art. He’s not simply a DJ, but a musician, a composer and producer creating big vibrations in electronic music. From his recordings to his live performances, he makes his own sound which is stylish, alluring, but overall engaging. His work resonates with a wide audience. Sailor & I’s music makes you feel something deep, and you can’t quite put your finger on it, but pure elation amidst a smoky dancefloor.

Over the last year, performing as his own live-act, Sailor & I played key clubs and festivals worldwide, sharing the stage with a diverse range of artists such as Tale of Us, Jon Hopkins, DJ Tennis, M83 and Kiasmos. The seasoned Sailor & I performs with a unique blend of a conventional DJ setup, sometimes also featuring synthesizers & drum machine, his guitar and his singing. A Sailor & I set is versatile, and capable of conjuring an excellent scene, the positive atmosphere for a performance or party to be remembered, shared.
Renowned, and revered, Sailor & I has been working with and supported by some of the industry’s finest with collaborations and remixes. Rising to prominence on the critical merits and of his releases of “Tough Love” and “Turn Around”, “Leave The Light On”, Alexander delivered his debut album ‘The Inventoion of Loneliness’ featuring remixes from Ame, Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn, DJ Tennis, Paul Woolford, and Agents of time. Also beyond his releases making waves in the electronic music world, Alexander’s portfolio also features a most notable neo-classical collaboration ‘Komorebi’ released on Duetsche Grammophon, showcases contemporary classical composers.

2022 is a year that won’t just see Sailor & I touring about, he’s in the final stages of refining his third album. Layered with his established hits, Sailor & I will bring his new material to fill any room with the right, memorable vibe.

Having studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama where I forged my passion for sound and programming, I began working with composers including Michail Palaiologou, creating live electronics for the manipulation of instruments. Some of these works have been performed at Ekon at the Southbank Center and Sounds New festival in Canterbury. I have also created intermedia work for Music for Milton Court, a part of the Le Corbusier Exhibition at the Barbican Cinema.

I went on to work with director Mary Nighy, scoring her first short 'Lulu' as well as her directorial theatrical debut 'Lyre' at the HighTide Theatre festival in Suffolk. 

I am also an experienced live sound engineer, having worked as head sound engineer at The Forge in Camden and running sound for events at Dalston Roof Park as well running all the stage sound at Pete The Monkey in Dieppe, an up and coming music festival in France. I am also experienced in live recording, including a full symphony orchestra at St.Johns Smiths Square.

On the side, my personal project Wax Cotton has had releases of remixes for artists including Metronomy and I am currently working on original material for future release.

For the past three series of the BBC drama 'Call The Midwife' I have worked as mix engineer for composer Peter Salem.

I now work from my East London studio as a freelance producer.



The 'By The Fireside' podcasts are a series of London themed conversations between contemporary flaneur Paddy Renouf and his friends, recorded by the fireside in the beautiful panelled reception room of the Eighteenth Century house in Soho.


Each episode, Paddy will guide his guests through their own experiences of London and the wider worlds of history, literature, music and art, from the comfort of his home in the heart of London.

Four years have passed since Swedish producer, songwriter and musician Andreas Kleerup was named as one of the world’s hottest producers by NME. The reasons were obvious: his self-titled debut album was a Top 10 hit in his homeland, but its influence impacted upon a tidal wave of artists who desperately tried to recreate Kleerup’s ability to meld retro elements into a pop sound that was both futuristic and innately melancholic. It resulted in him winning big at the Grammis with the prestigious awards for Newcomer of the Year, Producer of the Year and Composer of the Year. Even Lady Gaga was enamoured by Kleerup, and subsequently commissioned him to remix her track “Alejandro”.

His collaboration with Robyn, ‘With Every Heartbeat’, kick-started the trend – a huge international hit (#1 in the UK and a Top 10 hit in numerous other territories) that also won the adoration of discerning music fans. Other guests on the album ranged from the then newcomer Lykke Li through to the legendary Neneh Cherry. Not only did Kleerup demonstrate a surfeit of talent in his own right, but he could expertly judge and apply it in others too – and his ability to combine those two traits is a rare and compelling strength.

A common trait amongst other like-minded musicians is a desire to explore every possible facet of their creativity. It’s something which Kleerup shares. He could’ve simply taken the easy route and watered down his approach for the masses, but as the kind of guy who can reference both King Crimson and Boards of Canada in the same sentence it can’t have been too appealing an idea. Instead, he scored a stage adaptation of former Nobel laureate Harry Martinson’s sci-fi poem “Aniara”, the accompanying album of which earned him a Grammis nomination, and also fronted his Fleetwood Mac and Thin Lizzy-inspired country-rock sextet My and My Army on their debut collection “Thank God For Sending Demons” which garnered yet another Grammis nomination. 

Kleerup had spent the early part of 2014 experimenting on new ideas and technology, and had begun to sketch out some basic ideas. But then tragedy stuck with the death of his mentor Christian Falk. “He really was like family, friend and mentor – he was everything,” sighs Kleerup. A year prior, Kleerup had hit upon the sort of bouncing, insistent bass groove that Falk himself had mastered so well. Perhaps as a subliminal way of addressing his loss, Kleerup revisited the idea and soon had something strong enough to share with kindred spirit Susanne Sundfør (Björk, Röyksopp, M83) who added the mesmeric topline. And so the upcoming single “Let Me” In was born – a song which captures the adventurous spirit of Kleerup’s earlier work while pushing the Eighties influence to a new level.
