Its been a while since I released my debut album „Smalltown Boy. Fortunately, the album is sold out, but sadly there is no more possibility to grab the Album digitally cause my distribution (as well as my old Studio Server with the Wav Master Files) went down.

When I listen to the Album today I still feel the thoughts and feelings I had back than in 2012. This is the reason why I decided to release the 320Kb Set as free and unlimited download.

MÖWE is a recently founded project by the Vienna based artists Mel and Clemens, who previously played together in the band Mary lost her Pathos. While the duo’s indie roots still shine through in the song writing, MÖWE’s sound is largely electronic and best described as melodious and emotionally uplifting. Here, on SVT119, they present two of their outstanding productions, while Björn Störig contributes a beefy remix. 	

The title track ‘Inside’ focuses on harmonic piano and guitar hooks that float over a bouncing beat and crisp percussion. As the duo’s heartbreakingly beautiful vocals climax in a bass-driven chorus, we find ourselves lost in a sea of bewitching sound. ‘Seven Days’ is then introduced by delayed vox and drops into an airy arrangement backed-up by Mel and Clem’s longing voices. Stunning! Lastly, SVT mainstay Björn Störig gives ‘Seven Days’ the dance floor treatment by pitching down the original’s vocals and laying them over an elastic deep house bassline.

The first release of the new year has to be a special one, with 2014 being no exception. After strong EPs on Light my Fire and various remixes, Dan Caster presents an absolute treat on Stil vor Talent, his ‘Bleeding’ EP. 	

The title track kicks things off: here, Benjamin Franklin’s soulful voice carries us through a sea of dub chords, which slowly build into an emotionally charged climax. Kyodai’s remix then offers itself as an ode to classic deep house, as one encounters warming piano keys and saxophone sounds in perfect harmony with the original’s vocals. For ‘Nouvelle Future’ Dan enlists Björn Störig. It’s instantly obvious that the pair is a good match; their organic sunset-house is made for those epic dance-floor moments. Aided by a driving groove, Oliver Schories then accentuates the guitar and vocal elements of the original to great effect. Next up, Dan delivers an outright party-starter in the form of ‘Freaky, Noisy’, which, lastly, KANT reworks with a nod to electro for good measure.

We proudly inform you that LIQUID YOUTH has teamed up with the British label Bade Records for a podcast series where we will showcase the artist of their label. With already some amazing releases from Alexander Christian, Varysoo, Ben Bohmer, remixes by Dahu, Kris Davis, Fedele and a sick EP coming from James Sison on the label we are very excited with this collaboration. To kick things off, Charlie Coombes and Henry Stroud together Talk&Smoke and two out off the four founders of Bade Records recorded this amazing podcast. 

Talk & Smoke: "We started bade records about a year ago with Edward Antonio and James Sison who are brothers. The label was created because we felt there weren't enough British labels releasing this kind of music, a deep and melodic sound that evokes a lot of emotion and very much lies in the area between deep house and techno. We are getting more and more involved in events and our summer is shaping up to be a good one with stage takeovers at Gottwood festival and Farr festival in England, with more festival confirmations on the way. We are also going to be doing our first showcase in London and hopefully a joint showcase with another label in Amsterdam. 2014 was a great year, but only the beginning; we have our eyes on releasing vinyl at some point soon too. Artists that have supported the label include; John Digweed, Thugfucker, Mario Basanov, Adriatique and more.”

Sein Debüt “You can´t put your Arms around the melody” war zu flüchtig. Die schnell gewonnen Fans seiner eigenwilligen Interpretation aus Techno, House &amp; Pop wollten mehr und bekamen es mit “Another Day”, sowie dem Release „ALMA“ auf Alex Nigemann´s Berliner Label SOULFOOLED. Doch nichts davon konnte die langersehnte Wartezeit auf mehr schmälern. Herausgekommen ist “SMALLTOWNBOY”, das erste Album von Kölns unkonventionellstem Produzenten im Bereich elektronischer Musik - David Hasert.

Auf der der ersten Single „ Repeat offender / The Aberration of Starlight“ zeigt David bereits wie breit sein Spektrum ist. Beide Tracks brillieren durch den Klang  analog – rauschender Maschinen während eine unbekannte väterliche Stimme  den Hörer durch die Lieder führt. Die Tracks von David Hasert waren schon immer so breit angelegt, dass offensichtliche Grenzen von House &amp; Techno, verschmelzen. Tracks die sich eigentlich alle in diesem resolut durchproduzierten, aber dennoch reduzierten Chicagosound mit einem guten Gespür für oldschool bewegen, aber dennoch durch die Dichte der Vocals und den Hang zur Melodie Köln, zeitgemäß repräsentieren.

hieß es unlängst in einer Kritik über„Repeat offender“ Die passenden dancefloor Remixe dazu stammen übrigens von den Berliner Ausnahmeproduzenten Re.You (Souvenir/Keinemusik) &amp; Nhan Solo (Semester Musik), die im letzten Jahren große internationale Erfolge feierten konnten und natürlich auch gern gesehen Gäste auf LIKE Parties waren. Ein unerwarteter zweiter Frühling beginnt 2012 für alle die Techno einmal anders sehen wollen.
