Voyaging between the stars he watched from a small window looking out upon the flickering missiles in the dense black of midnight. It were as if he were a small bubble, floating through outer space, a mere dot, an insignificant entity against a vast backdrop. He did not feel small though. His destination was clear and it had been for a long time. Planet Arrakis wasn't far away now and soon they would touch down upon a new earth in which utopia and freedom would be plentiful and for all. This was the dream of the stars. 

Francesco Mami understands house music, this new EP is a vinyl only affair and comes rounded off by a remix from none other than Fred P. This is forthcoming on Bar Musica and we guarantee that it will transport you into all sorts of outer territories.

PREMIERE: Francesco Mami - Planet Arrakis [Bar Musica]

Francesco Mami is back on Rhythm Cult with a brand-new EP called "Oceans of Caledan" that displays his excellent rhythmic ability and deep techno aesthetic. After delivering a remix of Dan Wild's "From The Earth" that destroyed dance floors, Mami now releases an EP that is sure to enthral label lovers.

"Oceans of Caledan," a four-track EP, offers proof of Mami's distinctive sound. Piter (Ageless Mix), the album's opening track, hypnotizes the listener with an intense tribal groove, complicated conga patterns, and deep bass. With glitchy voices that pop in and out of the mix and a swinging bass rhythm that drives the song forward, "Hulud," a collaboration with renowned French producer Julien Chaptal, is a stunning deep exploration. The more experimental "Idaho" was created in partnership with London-based producer Mooday Waters. The song keeps the groove rolling while pushing the boundaries of electronic music with dissonant chimes and searing acid static. The EP is completed with "Duncan," a joint effort with Eric D. Clark, who adds soulful, spaced-out vocals to Mami's recognizable dark tribal sounds. The vocals of Eric D. Clark, who is well known for his work at Whirlpool Productions, give the song more depth and take it to a higher level.

Francesco Mami's skill as a producer and his capacity to create intricate rhythms that keep the listener interested are on full display in the superb EP "Oceans Of Caledan". This publication will undoubtedly draw more people to the Cult.

Ancient Future Now co-runner Johannes Klingebiel joins forces with singer and multi-instrumentalist Johanna Klein (known for her alternative pop project Liv Alma) to fuse into JKJK. While the naming process of the project might look a little trivial (because it is), the music of the pair is anything but. Their debut EP „Constellations“ is a splash of a broad color palette thrown onto the monochrome landscape that is our contemporary club music scene, elegantly hazing genre boundaries and creating their own world of pop-infused club music (or club-infused pop music?) in the process.

If all went according to plan you wouldn’t be the least interested in this text. Indeed the story of young Velten who leaves his hometown in the Black Forest to find an orderly apprenticeship in Berlin and who grows up over time – such a story wouldn’t be very gripping.Fortunately there is a club in Berlin that is called „Ostgut“ and people like Velten who like to make irrational decisions from time to time. The outcome is foreseeable: instead of sitting in the subway on his way to work, on a Monday morning, Velten much rather joins his pals in his run down flat for an after hour. Luckily these pals not only share their passion for sheer endless nights, but also start to organise event- series, open bars or turn a rundown Berlin backyard into a club. This is exactly the path that turned Velten within a short period of time into a DJ, producer and finally KATERMUKKE label boss DIRTY DOERING.

PREMIERE: AGELESS & Francesco Mami - Herald Of The Change (Transient Mix) [Human By Default]

You come across every now and then certain tracks which just hit you without really knowing why. This original track by Sledger is massive. There is a remix by Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada but the original is something! 

Track Info:

sLEdger is the latest musical project from London based Dj/Producer Rob Dallison.

Rob has released music under various names gaining support from people as diverse as John Digweed, Mary Anne Hobbs, Ashley Beedle and Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1, he’s also DJ'ed at various seminal UK clubs like Back To Basics, Elements and Turnmills often playing in the more musically experimental back rooms.

His first release as sLEdger (Softcastle for the Pegdoll label) gained widespread support from a diverse selection of DJ luminaries and led to remix work for a number of artists including Boy George and psyche rock band Strange Pill.

The next release 'Popper' proved to be an absolute monster at Sean Johnston's ALFOS parties - in Sean's own words "destined to be an ALFOS classic", and was snapped up by the highly respected Tici-Taci label.

The new 'Two See Balloons' E.P. is perhaps slightly different in styles taking in Progressive, Low Slung Electro, House, and includes an epic remix by the legendary DJ Nick Warren with the help of rising star Nicolas Rada.

Berlin ordered some bounce, so the boys packed their kimonos and flew in for their first gig at the techno mecca.

What a wild weekend with wild people. We are still buzzing from your screams, jumps, and energy! 

Starting off with an acapella tribute, then pushing/pulling from dark to light, and from sexy to hypnotic, this set is a signature Vibe Raters one. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did while playing it, and as much as the beautiful crowd did.

Italian natives Francesco Mami and SB-Unit get ready to release the ​Old Memory EP​ on Rebellion this July, delivering a delicate and mesmerizing four track journey.

Roll The Dice o​ pens the EP and sets the tone as the rolling bassline gets to work. Next up, ​Lost In The Toilette​ lays down a sub groove whilst leaving room for the chords and bass notes to gradually build throughout. ​Old Memory​ follows, providing an upfront and energetic cut, as a delayed melody builds towards revealing itself in full. ​Keep On​ rounds off the release with sonically pleasing atmospheric elements and returns to a more laid-back groove.

Francesco Mami​ grew up in Rimini where he held one of his earliest residences at Le Cocoricò Riccione and has since then earned respect as both a talented producer and DJ, playing across the world at the likes of DC10 and Burning Man. Formerly under the name of DOS, Francesco has released on labels like BPitch Control, Get Physical and Ibadan Records. His solo release on Rhythm Cult Records was the starting point for his new artistic concept, following his monthly DJ residency at Weetamix Geneva and La Macarena Club Barcelona.

SB-Unit​ is the up and coming project from Salvo Buonocore. Inspired by the electronic sound from both Naples and London and after years of musical and technical studies, he is now proud to release his latest works. In addition to producing and DJing, Salvo heads up his own label ​Polluted Records​ alongside co-founder Mick Piscitelli.
