Today we're going beyond where no man has ever gone before because Jesus says when you are going towards the dreamer of the dream position, then we're not talking about a man or a woman. We're not traveling through time and space, looking through the galaxies for meaning. We're going beyond the wormholes, beyond the black holes. We're going beyond the celestial realms of time and space of what is in A Course in Miracles called a vast illusion. Shakespeare got it right. He was on to it; he called it Much Ado About Nothing.

It's no small state of mind to look at the world and have a big smile on your face and a burst of gentle laughter and go hmm, Much Ado About Nothing. That would include all events in time and space, all the wars, all the diseases, all the hurricanes and tsunamis and plagues, and viruses. All the big stuff, let's throw them all in there. And all the seemingly good things as well, all the tulips, all the hummingbirds, let's take them all. And, Lord, I would rather have the vision of Christ than see a hummingbird. I would rather have a vision of Christ than leave my attention on perceptions of form. I would rather know my eternal home, everlasting life, than the things of form.

Opening Session - Place the Future in the Hands of God Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister and Frances Xu

When you put your future in the hands of God and begin to live by inner guidance in the present moment, it can feel quite foolish at the beginning because our past conditioning is hammering harshly away at us. "What do you think you are? This is ridiculous, and you're throwing your whole life away for God, the great question mark the ego says. 

The ego won't even admit that there is a God, and if it has to admit that there is a God, it's a punishing God. It throws a fake God in there. So it's pretty interesting now we're going into this Place the Future in the Hands of God Retreat, that we need each other to reflect miracles. We're mighty companions to one another. We're witnesses to one another's miracles and how God is helping us. 

The Holy Spirit's presence is a burning, intense calling to wake us up, and we only have to join our little willingness to this burning, intense calling to wake up, and that will ignite the whole thing; that's what's sends the whole thing off into an actual experience.

In the work with A Course in Miracles you start to realize it's more about undoing than doing. It's more about emptying the mind of everything you think you think and think you know and everything you believe is true. It's like all the Mystics and Saints of all the centuries have told us. Empty your mind and you will know the truth. It's very simple. And with this topic of My Spirit-given function, we can say that, in order to know the function that God gave you, and God gave you eternity, then you will have to unlearn a lot. 

Function in this world is associated with form and also associated with the body. And I can tell you that that has to be forgotten. We have to unlearn all of that, in order to live in the truth, because this world was made as a veil to keep us from knowing the truth.

Who you are is from before time was. Time is a concept made to measure and therefore “give reality” to man’s existence within an illusion. Matter is held together by thought and the belief in (and the need for) a bodily identity.
 
The mind cannot die. The mind is eternal and is beyond the realm of time and space. When awareness of self has expanded beyond a limited bodily identity, time and space are literally in the hands of the miracle-worker.

When the mind is totally focused in the present, and aware of Self, mind wandering ceases. When you know who you are, nothing of this world is wanted or desired, and therefore there is nothing to fear. Nothing can be lost when who you are is everything. This is a complete fearlessness.

In the flow of the Spirit’s purpose, everything is simple and absolutely focused. Convincing and explaining are unnecessary to those joined in purpose because the direction is clear and obvious. It is felt. It is not personal; it just is.

In the end, LUCY just is and so are we after listening to Davids commentary.
