M.A.R.I.A. is the 3rd track (3 of 18) on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

This song has many meanings... On the surface, M.A.R.I.A. is the next evolution for slang similar to Mary Jane, Brown Sugar etc all related to marijuana.  

M.A.R.I.A. on another level means simply the desire, lust or addiction for any substance such as women, food, drugs, clothes, jewelry, material objects, cars, houses, fame and/or power.  

However, on a deeper spiritual level M.A.R.I.A. is an acronym for "Mind And Reason In Action."  It is symbolic of the battle between the gross worldly objects and the more subtle spirituality.  An active mind driven by the senses is what keeps man bound to the material or physical plane of existence.  Reason symbolic for "God's Wisdom" or "Intelligence" is what we need to nurture either through experience or more directly through meditation.  

We should never become slaves of our "wants" but rather discipline the body and the senses to serve the soul which is guided through intuition by connection inwardly with Wisdom...

This song is about finding that "something" in life that means the world to you! If money wasn't an issue, what would you like to do? Find that something that you're passionate about, consult your heart and then don't let anyone or anything stop you from achieving it. Let every challenge or hurdle become motivation to make you stronger and wiser.

Once you've made up your mind then don't let anyone deter you from your goal. Don't look for recognition or the praise of others but do it to the best of your ability because it comes from your heart! You are unique and we all have certain talents in life that make us stand out! Be weird... be an oxymoron... be misunderstood but mostly be happy and content with yourself!

For The Love

"A Player's Love Song" is the 11th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

This is the story of the man who cannot appreciate the good woman he already has. Under the false bravado of being a "player" he gets greedy and engages in an affair with another women. Worse than just having an affair, he establishes two relationships in essence "lying to both women."

As they say in time all things come to light and he's caught in his lies. The two women suspiciously invite him to a "threesome" with the promise of more to come but after giving him a taste of what he could have had he ends up without either. They set him up and leave him high & dry.

I guess a bird in the hand is certainly better than two in a bush... But these are the risks in the game of the life of a single player.

A Player's Love Song

"God Bless!" is the 17th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S. and is dedicated in particular to Thaddeus, Frances, Roland & Alice Pyfrom, Terrance Vanterpool and everyone who has lost family and loves ones!

This is the last song of the album (not counting outro) and captures the essence of this journey. A.L.I.A.S. has started from humble beginnings, seeks all the pleasures the world has to offer, become corrupted with money, power & women and comes to realize that it is all short-lived...

A.L.I.A.S. will still have to deal with the karma of his past actions (next series of albums) but for the moment has an epiphany and begins to appreciate the small moments and times shared with family and friends. 

Sometimes the "hood" can be the most beautiful place in the world when there is LOVE present. While the dreams of "being on top" can prove to be a lonely world full of anxiety, fear, paranoia and competition.

A.L.I.A.S. seeks to close this chapter of his past and turn over a new leaf but simply recognizing the path towards greater understanding doesn't mean the journey will suddenly be easy!

It is said for the individual that struggles for Self-Realization, God's grace will eventually come but for those that don't... He remains silent.

Time will tell...
