Bass Drone (disquiet0525)

I was listening through some recent field recordings and thought this recording of me hurrying down ten flights in a concrete stairwell of an older apartment building in San Francisco might serve as a sort of free rhythm track for the next pass or two. I felt it could use some emphasis of the resonance on the landings, which I added with EQ and a subtle delay. There's also a short noise loop at one point. This was a fun disquiet when I did it two years ago!

An ambient snippet. G Major, 49 BPM. Envisioned as one of a trio - perhaps three loops playing off each other.

A small selection of an attempt at a Basinski-style "Disintegration Loop" on the Digitakt. Sampled myself playing a small section of Holst's "Jupiter", and then chopped that into phrases on the Digitakt. I changed the probability that each phrase would trigger as I went further into the piece, and changed various effect parameters as well.

Created in Bitwig, samples and effects – mostly a drum part for adding to. This was originally done to work against Norns based drones but I pared these right back with just a few bleeps using an Euclidian gate sequencer plug in.

I loved the grooving drum track created last week by creaturesOnce. I added a bass line in Ableton, in F minor and B♭ minor, letting the structure of the drum track lead the way. It's ready for someone to play a mid to high range melody or chord jam on top.
