Jai rose to fame when he won the fifth series of Britain’s Got Talent in June 2011. He first auditioned in Liverpool singing “Anthem” from Chess, receiving positive comments from the judges, Michael McIntyre, Amanda Holden and David Hasselhoff.

He received three yeses and was put through to the next round, and through to the live semi-finals. In the final, Jai performed “To Where You Are” by Josh Groban. This song was chosen as Josh was one of Jai’s idol’s. After winning Britain’s Got Talent, McDowall performed on the Britain’s Got Talent Tour, starting in Newcastle and moving through Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow before heading south through England and appearing in the major venues in most major cities. Jai then went on to perform at the 2011 Royal Variety Performance.

Jai had a pleasant surprise at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall when he was invited by Josh Groban to jointly perform “To Where You Are” in front of a packed house. The crowd were treated to this impromptu performance which was warmly received by both artists fans. He has since performed on the LIVE final of China’s Got Talent and performed for Royalty at the Queens Jubilee and has headlined his own Scottish tour as well as dates across the UK.

His latest single ‘I Begin Again’ is available for worldwide download on iTunes & Amazon. Jai has been working in the studio on his second album, working on a crossover classic pop fusion and building on the success of his first album though SyCo/Sony Music. 2016 is a the beginning of a new journey for Jai.
