After taking a short break ‘House of Disco Records’ are back with a purpose. Not content with the adding to the plethora of ‘Disco Edit’ labels representing the genre they have opted to walk a more distinct path, determined to lean on originals or clever sampling as opposed to outright re-rubs.  In this their twelfth release they recruit previous label-mate Harry Wolfman and compadre Skinny Love to provide three stunning dancefloor ready originals. The duo have certainly delivered on the brief and turned in three diverse and clever takes on what a modern Disco track with a House soul can represent. 

On remix duties they have recruited a promising young producer ‘Kickflip Mike’, who has released on Box Aus Holz as Joschka Seibt and paired him with experienced disco merchant ‘The Revenge’ who is responsible for some of the best remixes we know of, and he doesn’t disappoint here with either remix.

Also as a cheeky bonus our buddy from New York Jkriv has crafted a remix that wil only be available to download on digital from beatport.

House of Disco Records have been working hard to push their sound in a more original direction, and what better way to stamp out any notions of being an edit label than to recruit one of the most respected producers out there, Ron Basejam, to showcase his musical talents over 5 diverse and accomplished originals. Ron is widely known for his work with Crazy P and for a string of timeless remixes but ‘Tales From The Night’ is his first solo EP of original work since 2011 and it’s long awaited arrival seems to have found the perfect home on House of Disco.

The EP kicks off with the most club focussed track ‘When I hear that Music’. A relentless groove weaves its way through delicate keys, bossy horns and soulful vocal samples as the pace rolls on. Ron’s experience in arrangement really comes to the fore here as we seem to be constantly surprised by more and more intricacy. It’s the definition of music to wear your sneakers out to.

The second and final track on the A-Side is the more hypnotic ‘Kag’ whose blend of dreamy funk and hypnotic vocals come together to create a low slung sun drenched track for summer. 

On the flip we have ‘We Know How To Work It’ which features the signature vocals of Crazy P bandmate Danielle Moore in the most upbeat and catchy track of the EP, then ‘The Fire’ seems to channel some very Prince link spirits to keep us warm with some very complex vocal treatments indeed. Finally finishing off the EP is a reprise of ‘When I Hear That Music’ where Ron has a bit of fun reducing the original to its barest components and going a dubbier deeper route.

With a special focus on the various colours of deep DubTechno and "Dub inspired TechHouse".

Gabriel Le Mar reflecting his passion and respect for the needs of a Dubhead on the floor.

The dub feeling is clearly the inspiration behind the general flavor of the What's your sleeper? sound and will demonstrate innovative efforts to offer interesting hybrids of techno/house music.

Quantec remixed up a great dub rocker, going through deep and floating dub chords and nerdy piano rolls.

The tracks are a wonderful example of going through waves concerning energy and flow with one result - music to listen and dance to.

Berlin-based Robosonic welcome the springtime with their first OFF EP.

"Worst Love" uses an anthemic sample to create a groovy dancefloor burner with tight groove.

Doctor Dru delivers a contemporary underground pop remix.

Fritz Zander from the Suol collective made a "Panorama Bar 9 am"-styled remix for the real house-heads.

And with "Thankful", Robosonic give us a 2nd original track, slightly more toolish than Worst Love.

On JUMP CUTS Gabriel Le Mar cooperates again with singers and songwriters from South-Africa, after having worked in the past with the band Amampondo.

A true co-work from soul-dub-brother Gabriel Le Mar, fusing tech house and dub influences with the local style of south african music like Kwaito, Maskanda and traditional Zulu music into modern club sound.

The queen of modern Zulu music, legendary Busi Mhlongo with her distinctive voice, is chanting on this album.
Busi sadly passed away in 2010. "A true legend has passed away. Her love for music kept the flames of hope alive during the country’s struggle for democracy. Her music encouraged and influenced a range of contemporary South African artists. She inspired the nation and let the world know of South Africa’s quest for freedom."

Gabriel also co-opted with Lungiswa Plaatjies, Madala Kunene and Mantombe Matotiyani from Amampondo, one of Nelson Mandela`s favourite bands.

The result is a fusion of ideas that became evident through the characteristic expression of these artists, whose vocal performances oscillate between traditional to contemporary, and that are merged in the techhouse mix with a soul and dub feel.

For the second installment of the Stallions saga, Bosconi Records entrusts the fate of the muscular thoroughbred Neged. The stallion is flanked by five stallions at an older age and with four tracks have a responsibility to drive the seductive ride, set synergy between Uk, bass and balearic sounds. The first maximum weight is A Guy Called Gerald, with a melodic and other times The Diehold Thu, following close behind Altered Natives that lay snares for between environments dreamy and epic of The Legend Of Neglect. The B-side turns on a wide range of positive feelings derived from spatial Testacorta melodies, written by Alex Picone and Mass Prod aka Brothers in Low, and Virata Rupa by Edoardo della Calle, who is a great travel companion for a ride reached only half of the final goal.
