This is a cover of a beautiful song by the Mexican/Brazilian duo Boveda Celeste. Was recorded in Vienna, Austria during the eve of the Summer Solstice with my amazing Colombian brothers Fredy Velasquez Figueroa on male vocals, Juan Carlos Arévalo  on guitar, and myself on lead vocals and flute. The production was made by Arkawa Music Production.

Forever Wild

This is a recording of the music of the 'Warmup' section of the 2 hour journey we enjoyed at Ecstatic Dance in Williams, Oregon, on October 8, 2017.  Between the Warmup, and the Program (Part 2), we had an opening circle in which we connected with words about the guidelines which create the Ecstatic Dance container, and a beautiful Invocation song by a community member.

It's Fall season in southern Oregon. The tiny Town of Williams, which normally consists of very private rural farmers suddenly is awash with migrant farm workers. Young and old, they come from near and far, and they love to dance. 
It's been freezing every night for a week, and fortunately the air isn't thick with smoke from the nearby forest fires. 
It’s night time, as the venue is booked in the mornings of the 2nd Sundays.  It’s a special Ecstatic Dance, when we get to dance in the night time energy.
As the first couple songs play, community members arrive and greet each other with huge smiles and bigger hugs.  For some of us, it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other.  For others, only a week.  Still, we immediately start filling the room with LOVE.
Playing one song into another, choosing each in the moment, we co-created the journey.  Myself as the Musical Facilitator did the technical work, but I feel that the energy we brought together was the true guide.
The recordings are for us to revisit the moments we had at Ecstatic Dance, and for those who weren’t there to potentially tap into the energy we shared.
This was, at this point, the most fun I’ve had at Ecstatic Dance… ever.  Thank you to everyone who participated.

This EP was created as a dedication to water. We believe water is life and want to honor the water not only as a gift and birth right, but also as a medicine. We pray that all future generations can have clean water, that we could take care of all the waters of the world; the rivers, the oceans, the lakes, and that we could learn to take care of the water inside of us. 

This EP was inspired by a show that I created honoring water for a musical residency in Mykonos, Greece where I was surrounded by water daily. We would sing and play water songs before an altar that honored the water and finish our show by offering the water from the altar back to the ocean. 

Thank you for listening and supporting this mission of wellness and consciousness for our beautiful and sacred Mother Earth and her waters.

I started this track in 2015, before moving to Oregon from Hawaii.  While there, I had a very difficult time producing, but put my focus on Ecstatic Dance instead.  Ecstatic Dance and life in Oregon catalyzed a new phase for my journey in life and with music.  It feels *so good* to be producing again!!
Now, after being in Hawaii again for one moon cycle, I finally finished this song!  
It's so good to be back with the dance community on the Big Island.  I'm honored to be welcomed so warmly!  Aloha nui!

For nearly two decades, Amani Friend has been at the helm of the global-electronic project Liquid Bloom. Feeling equally at home on the international festival dance circuit, in the yoga studio, and in the more subtle sonic spaces reserved for intentional ceremonies guided by ancient allies, the wide-ranging artist collective under the umbrella of the Liquid Bloom project spans distance, time, and dimensions of the mind.

As one half of Desert Dwellers, Amani brings his dance floor guidance and experience to harness a deeper, transportive journey, giving as much weight to calm and the serene as to the ecstatic groove. As founder of Liquid Bloom, he has guided the project through its many lives, and its many rebirths at the hands of remixers AtYyA, Hedflux, Numatik, and Mose to name a few. Joining Amani on stage and in the studio is one-man looping orchestra Poranguí, whose own globe-trotting journey has made his musical upbringing as varied as the instruments he lays before him. A Liquid Bloom performance with the Brazilian-born, U.S.-based artist sees him bounce between didgeridoo, kalimba, and vocals with ease, as he celebrates percussion and instruments from around the world in a dizzying collection.

The Liquid Bloom experience unfolds in a multitude of incarnations. Amani is able to craft deep, entrancing journeys during his solo DJ sets. As a duo, Amani and Poranguí are able to balance and weave the organic and the electronic within their performances. With multi-instrumentalists, singers, and performers like Kaminanda, Deya Dova, Shamans Dream, and Ixchel Prisma, the Liquid Bloom live band springs to life, bringing the catalogue into view through an entirely different lens and bursting with a vibrancy and depth of artistic harmony.

Spirit Kind Of Nation - Live at the Lighthouse

Dakota Romero’s beautifully haunting debut recording of the classic traditional song La Llorona commemorates the day of the dead. Her performance is dedicated to her Grandmother, Ida Mae Aragon aka Rita Rogers, in honor and memory of her journey to the spirit world on June 11, 2012.

Dakota Romero is a lifelong performer with world experience, beginning her music career in her early years of life, under the wing of her father, Native Rock recording artist, Robby Romero. Classically trained, and with a degree in music, her greatest inspirations have come from singing around the world, and the musicians she has met and performed with along the way, from Buffy Sainte-Marie to Carlos Santana.
