Nature As My Friend

It's always hard to lose someone you care about. 
It's even harder to lose someone from your youth.
A great friend, someone who was always there for you
no matter what. Just like family!

She was a real Tomboy. I still chuckle and smile thinking about it.
One time she got into a fight because some random person grabbed her ass
when walking by. She knocked this dude right through the bar's window!
That's how badass she was, hence her nickname " One Punch Nicky ".

She was very pretty and had a killer friendly smile which in turn
caught most people off guard due her aggressive nature.
Which often would work in her favor! She was a real spitfire. 
Can't even remember how many times
I grabbed her by the hair to break up fights! She wasn't a hateful person.
Just one of those things growing up. Troubled, being young and stupid!

So many good memories and even the bad, will cherish those always.
It's bin so long now, still missing you dear Nicolai.
This track is a reminder to myself that I will never forget you!

Roots Raid revient le 25 novembre 2022 avec son deuxième album " NUIT BLANCHE" composé de 18 morceaux sur le label ODGprod. Un double album sur lequel les toasters Cookah et Likkle Ferguson viennent poser leurs voix et leurs textes. Avec "NUIT BLANCHE", Roots Raid réinvente son style, à la croisée des genres, entre deep dub, stepper, bass music, cumbia et neo soul, tout en puisant dans les racines des débuts roots et reggae.
Un double album éclectique et assumé qui reflète les influences qui ont inspiré Roots Raid sur les 4 dernières années. Un projet enrichi par de nombreuses collaborations et featuring: Panda Dub, Dawa Hifi, Mael Cageron.
Après un single « Rooty Cowboy » co-produit avec Panda Dub en avril 2022, qui évoquait le voyage initiatique d’un jeune Cowboy devenant adulte, Nuit Blanche explore de nombreux univers, de la voie lactée (« Calling the universe », « Milky Way »…), aux temps modernes (« Modern Times ») en passant par la transidentité (« Transgender ).
L’artwork a été confié, pour la seconde fois, à la talentueuse strasbourgeoise Nadia Diz Grana, connue pour sa technique du collage art. Ses réalisations ne passent pas inaperçues au point que Les Inrocks, Libération, L’Express entre autres, la sollicitent régulièrement pour illustrer des sujets de société. Pour " NUIT BLANCHE", elle réalise une création sur mesure, inspirée des thématiques de ce nouvel opus : paysages arides, galaxies, et coiffe d’indien, symbole spirituel de bravoure, loyauté et puissance, lien entre la terre et le ciel.
A l’instar des releases produites par Berry’s records jusqu’alors, le mastering de " NUIT BLANCHE" a été confié à Pilah Dub (Kaly Live Dub / Dub Addict). Un projet de vinyle est à venir, plus d’infos à venir

I recently spent 2 weeks sitting by my fathers bedside with my brother and sister ,until he Passed and moved on to the next life. Our family for many years have been practising Spiritualists. hopefully he is now in the Happy Hunting Ground as his spirit guide was a Native American Indian.
I wrote this Music on my IPAD during this time.

When I was little, my parents divorced and we moved with my mother to the other side of the world. My parents always stayed on good terms, and we could call and write, so it wasn't like he had died or anything - but suddenly our father was just... gone from our everyday world. Over the decades, we have been able to catch up every couple of years or so, but parting each time always feels like losing him all over again, and no matter how old I get, that little girl inside me rises to the surface, re-living the confusion, hurt and loss. 

A few years ago, my father showed me a poem that little girl had written and sent to him during those first few years apart:
