Jenny Wren is kind of a contrast to the vanity of leaders who start wars, which is the  subject of this song.

This track is a tribute to genre which flourish in 90's, a love letter to bands like US3, Jazzmatazz, Incognito, Brand New Heavies, Groove Collective and of course Miles Davies and his marvellous "Doo-Bop".

I started working on this piece around July 2022. I've stuck on my inability to do any advanced jazz solos/improvisation and embellishments so this track ended up in my "musical drawer".
Luckily, after finishing my previous piece "Vital Signs", where I used sax VST, I shyly approached Jörg aka @joerxworx with a request to evaluate my saxophone scribbles and a proposal to finish my unrealized piece.
Jörg turned out to be a nice, understanding guy who willingly joined this project. At this point, I would like to thank him very much for this wonderful contribution to this piece, a lot of advice he gave me and a lot of patience for my slow work.

David Lucas and his late father, Bill Lucas, an acclaimed Sydney architect attended my voice workshops held by the "Once Extra Dance Company" back in the "80's". Adventurous , creative souls with no holds barred on what was the beginnings of Danse Danse. It was then called "Dance Out Of Beat" and was a commentary on the club scene that I'd very much been a part of in the "60's" In recent times I invited Annette Scott on board who has brought it brilliantly to fruition along with my longtime collaborator, Jazz pianist/composer, Kirk Kadish. Now we have a new take on the current dance scene with a touch of empowerment as to who has the final moves.

This is the lead track from the set of songs that I began with Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the turmoil and chaos brought upon by the pandemic. This is also the first part of four tracks within the album directly based on Wou-Wou’s comic, The Shrike. It has been incredible working with Bitzone and Stricknice throughout the project as well. It is always cool when the everyone in the stag heard works well togehter and brings distinct yet complimentary ideas to the mix. Big thanks also to Weighty Tree for introducing his groovy style of neopsychedelica to the rut! 

May everyone be victorious at their turn during the rut.

Nature has a way of quickly shaking off the traumas of the past and returning to its most basic of desires. You see, all of life yearns to mate and procreate, and while most that experience defeat from the stronger or rejection from those seeking the fitter, muster the determination to get back up again, some take their spurning to heart, as if they were more deserving than nature intended, where it festers and begins to grow a new grotesque life of its own.

This song is the first The Eclectic Collective has done with Mark, and we all had a great time making it with him. This song started with Mark, who is a bass player's bass player, giving his raw bass track to Ken, who brought it to the group. Ken laid down his exciting drums to match Mark's bass line before anything else happened, though. Once we had a rhythm section, JJ laid down his dancing electric piano. Once that was in place, I laid down the organ. Then it was time for the guitars, played electrifyingly by both Tez and Stephen. Tez plays throughout most of the song, and Stephen added his part towards the end. Stephen also mixed this for us expertly, as always. If you have a beverage in your hands, you might want to set it down. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

The Future

Hey…. Snowing now, I went out to do a little snow shoveling and to check on an injured whitetail deer that was hiding along the fence line of my neighbor’s property yesterday. Looks like the deer waited until the cover of night to leave, and probably headed into the riparian brush along the creek down the road. I saw the deer yesterday, as I was outside. It had an injured front hoof, and was definitely limping. The deer was well camouflaged along the wooden fence and bedded down under some bushes. I laughed because the neighbor’s dog was none the wiser, as to the presence of the deer. I was hoping that deer would make it, and survive, as hiking in the spring, I have often found deer carcasses, picked clean by eagles, coyotes, magpies and others, as the winter took its toll on them. There have been plenty deer in the yard here all winter long. I usually shake the dried apples off the trees once a week, and they fall into the snow. Then it looks like an army came through, hoof prints everywhere and nary an apple to be found. Anyway, this song is about my childhood. A dark and cathartic song. A little rough around the edges too. Gotta Get Out Of It - Bruno C

Time stopped in Santa Cruz.

I created this composition, like others, between 2014 and 2016.

I finished work and went with my iPad to create music.

The center of all this time was the neighborhood of Santa Cruz, in the center of Seville, my city.

Anyone who visits my city will inevitably pass by there.

Some of my favorite tapas places are there.

The terraces of some hotels have spectacular views from which you can enjoy the city while having a drink, a coffee, a wine, or whatever you prefer. I know them all.

The small squares full of tranquility, the murmur of water from some fountains, the sensation of feeling history as a pure essence! or the smell of orange blossom, which permeates everything around this time of year, make me enjoy something special that, in some way, I need. It's hard to explain, but that's how it is.

And there it seems that time stops.

Time Stopped In Santa Cruz ( Nv 2024)

True Love

That's right, I have a new axe...a Schecter. I never even considered one before. But, I saw great reviews(and it cost 1/3 the price my Les Paul) so I picked one up. I wrote this epic instrumental to give it a test drive. I cut the drum loops (and gave them that big 80s feel), used my LPs for the rhythm guitars, played bass, layered harmonies of the Schecter's sweet, singing tone for the chorus and let 'er rip on some lead and Floyd Rose dive bombs. Such a fun guitar to play!

そんな感じの曲です。
説明が長い！くどい！・・なにはともあれ、新曲です。
Vocalサンプルも少し入れていて、英語がわからない私が聴くと「Down Down Takenoko」と聞こえたので、このタイトルになっています。

またいつものように即興ギターを組み合わせて無理やり曲にしました。
エレアコを修理して、DIも買って、ご機嫌でギターを弾きました・・ほかの音に埋もれたけど(^^)

■Overview
One day she spun the roulette wheel.
She decides her own destiny. Yes, it's the roulette of fate.

"I don't want to live in a sand castle, not knowing when it will collapse."
"First, let's buy a mountain! Then we'll grow bamboo shoots and buy a real castle!"

Soon her efforts bear fruit and everything goes according to her plan.
One day, as usual, she heads to town to sell the bamboo shoots she has harvested.
However, she drops a bamboo shoot and it falls into the lake.
"Ah, my perfect plan is falling apart..."

It's a song like that.
Long explanation! Tired! ...Anyway, it's a new song.
It also includes a few vocal samples, and when I listened to it even though I don't understand English, it sounded like "Down Down Takenoko," hence the title.

Also, as usual, I combined it with improvised guitar and forced it into a song.
I repaired the electric acoustic guitar, bought a DI, and played the guitar in a good mood...although it was buried in other sounds (^^)
Long explanation! Tired! Yes, sorry. that's all.

Rather than realizing the rules after you're about to be thrown out by centrifugal force.
Anyway, I wanted to see the outcome of the roulette wheel I spun myself.


Even after ten years have passed since then, it still keeps going.

This song started as a recording of Computart playing the guitar and singing/whistling to a metronome, which you can find raw on his page. Having worked together before on a song called The Shining, the Frenchman reached across the pond again and asked me, the Yank, if I would like to add anything to this. This style of music being one of my favorites, I jumped at the chance. Of course, I got Ken involved right away because every great song needs a great drummer. I came up with a bass line, to which Ken added drums, to which I in turn redid my bass line, as is our usual process. I then added the mandolin. Then, Ken added the hand drums to put the icing on the cake. Tez was generous enough to produce and mix this for us, and we feel like he got it to sound like we were all playing in the same room together.

Recalling some tequila, love words and more with them in that Ibiza bar, I wondered: “What if Pink Floyd met the spirit of Camarón de la Isla… in my bedroom?” I used lots of guitars, basses, etc. on a 12/8 beat, to enclose 3/4, 6/4 & 8/8 rhythms along.
