Dark Arps

This time 3-dimensional space is filled with rectilinearly organized "stars" representing pitches, with one direction corresponding to the interval of an octave, another to twelfths and another to 17ths (major 3rds plus two octaves).  All pitches within the range of human hearing thus lie near a certain plane.  Now a planet traveling a circular orbit moves through this plane, and spins so that its "year" lasts 60 of its "days."   Pitches sound when the stars that symbolize them rise over the horizon as viewed from a fixed location on the planet.

The timbre of the music morphs slowly, for no deep conceptual reason, but simply to avoid fatiguing the ear.

These five pieces feel like rags to me despite their strange tuning, irrational rhythms and athematic construction.  They all follow the same progression of 73 special chords derived from division of the octave into 34 parts, special because each also closely approximates a selection of overtones from a common fundamental.  Two common tones link each chord to the next giving an effect different from but still something like functional harmony.  One might call the movements mutually isomorphic, even though they differ in all their lapidary details.   Having listened to one or two, the others will sound familiar one a first hearing, but only in a very abstract way.

Psychological Quagmire (Do We Even Exist Mix)😹

Too much focus on live performance limits music to local maximas of time and place. The lights go up the crowd goes home and the pills wear off. If the only thing special about the music is it's liveness why listen again? Spend your efforts instead on recording good music. Write good songs, then figure out how to perform them live.  
Not the other way around - that is a schoolboy's error. Private schoolboy.

Keiretsu

Another member of the Dark Arps of Canada breaks onto the scene.  Bringing a style from Winterpig Stabitoba, influenced by punk, hardcore, breakcore, hip hop and MMA, all you need to know about him is "HIS MIDDLE NAME IS CAGE".

Distortion, Animated ambience,  and glitchy percussion echoes scatter across the mix, nicely punctuating changes and keeping things fluctuating in an improvised, constantly danceable way. Musical elements roam completely to their full mystical and ethereal extents while the sonic character is both lively and hypnotic.

Different styles, different vibes, different producers all united for one common purpose - crushing our enemies.
