Headwind (Remix)

Recorded at Knucklehead Studios in October 2013.  I used  Steinberg Cubase 7 to record all the instruments.  Guitar Tracks:  Fender Stratocaster through a Marshall DSL-401.  Keyboard Tracks: Alchemy.  Drum Tracks:  Addictive Drums & Superior Drummer. 

Bad Intentions

This is a cover version of "Pavilion" which is off of Eric Johnson's "Venus Isle" album.
The guitar parts are all edits from multiple takes and the speed phrases were broken down into smaller sections, then strung together via audio editing. All guitars are processed with:

My guitar skills are very limited, but the power of audio editing allows for me to do things that are physically impossible otherwise.
All rhythm tracks were programmed and recorded using the Cubase 8 DAW.
Plugins used were "Addictive Drums", "MODO Bass" along with several software synths.

The guitars were recorded with an EJ Stratocaster > T.C. Electronics Hyper Gravity > Steinberg MR816csx audio interface > Cubase.

Trademark (Eric Johnson cover)

I would like to dedicate this track to the memory of Billy Maddox, the drummer of the original recording, who tragically died defending his family from an intruder into their home. My wife and I were the beneficiaries of a random act of kindness from Billy. We were on our way to purchase tickets for Eric Johnson at the House Of Blues in Orlando when we happened to cross paths with him. We asked if he would sign our CD, which he did, then he asked us if we would like Eric to sign it. He hurried off back to the tour buses and returned the CD with all the band member signatures. It's something that will always stay with me. I tried to capture the essence of his style when programming the drums for this track. God Bless his soul.

This incredible piece of music was composed and performed by Jimmy Rivas in memory of my daughter, Cynthia Hardy.  Thank you Jimmy for such a kind gesture.  She loved you dearly!!

My daughter Cynthia co-wrote this song with her good friend Michelle Newman. I put together an arrangement and added the melody. Pat Maguire contributed an amazing bass track that was recorded in one take.

Area 51

This is a song that I am dedicating to my long time friend Steve Dennison, who passed away on August 24. I had just started working on this when we had our last conversation. I'm so grateful that he was part of my life. His influence on me musically runs deep.
My favorite memory of Steve is all the arguments we would have during our breaks when playing in the band "Coral Rock", which were rooted in my belief at that time, that Richie Blackmore was a better guitarist than Eric Clapton. His ears would turn red and be angry with me for even suggesting that.
If somehow music transcends the line between the "Here and Now" and the "Afterlife", this is for you Steve!

Searching For Peace

This track is dedicated to and written for my wife, Jan. We've been together since the early eighties. I am so lucky to have found her!

Finding Her

The intro section draws inspiration from Carson Brock & Eric Johnson. 

S-Gear by https://www.scuffhamamps.com/ was used for the guitar tones. This track and Zenland, https://soundcloud.com/david-wayne-hardy/zenland-hybrid-version will be used by Scuffham Amps to demo there software at the German Guitar Summit this September. 

Damage, Scarbee Bass, Zebra 2, Rapture, Padshop and VB3 were the plugins used for the backing track. The guitars for this project were 2 Fender Stratocasters and a Fender Japanese Telecaster.

Sonic Growl

I used the title "Symphonic Mourning" as a metaphor, for all the permeations of grief that come together in a crescendo when a parent loses a child.

At the top of the intro, I tried to sonically express the feeling of having your heart ripped out.  It is purposely intended to sound unpleasant.

This composition was recorded in the Fall of 2016 using Cubase 8, VST Plugins: HALion, Kontakt, Scoring Guitars, Groove Agent, Padshop, S-Gear(guitars), Fender Stratocaster and a Martin D-35.

This is for my "Little Girl", Cynthia.
