It's maybe messed up a little by the MixCraft 10.6 global effect i chose at the very last minute with like 20 minutes to go: but just approach it like "We're in the late 70's at a Jarre concert in France and we're way at the farthest worst seating in the venue and theres crappy echo on everything. LFG!"  Approached in that way and now after a few hearings I am starting to be more forgiving of it.

Hank's soulful ever gritty vocals, his country style guitar, and gospel style piano paints a hard hearted story each verse getting more and more intense building to a final roundup of emotion complete with string section and haunting steel guitar, when you hear this song, you know why they call him Hank,
