From uptempo deep cuts, to jazzy house, slow trance and acid broken beat… Broken District again proves its will to explore uncharted musical territories. “Brokenbits Vol. 3” is the latest instalment in their series of compilations, featuring productions from the label’s friends and affiliated talents. As always, this new volume explores a wide variety of sounds, with musical works produced by Horatio Luna & Nikodimos, Interface Palm, Slowaxx, and Thermal (Sevenbeatz x Moody Gliani). 

Horatio Luna returns to Broken District after his first appearance on Interface Palm’s album (Curated Space, 2022). This time, he kicks off the release with a collaborative track with fellow Melbourne musician and producer Nikodimos. Together, they deliver us “Fly”, a modern jazzy house ballad that really feels like an improvised jam, with Horatio’s bassline answering to Nikodimos’ saxophone and transverse flute notes. Yet, make no mistake, nothing’s improvised: the two Australian artist gives us an intricated, multi-layered production that will hit jazz-heads right in the heart.  

Interface Palm again lands his beautiful work on Broken District, with “Digital Day”, following his first mini LP “Curated Space” recently released on the label. This time he produces a high-powered, 130bpm broken / deep house track with a beautiful 80s, lo-fi treatment that will set a rough, hazy mood on dancefloors. 

Slowaxx makes his first appearance on Broken District. With “Linn Orchestra”, this Tuscan-based Italian producer takes us on a jazzy, acid, broken beat trip. The track is led by atmospheric pads creating an almost dramatic setting… but they are overlapped with a colourful bass sequence, acid synths and a powerful rhythm (based on the LinnDrum drum machine – hence the title) that brings a peculiar flavour to this odd piece of music. The kind of production that really stick to the Broken District aesthetic. 

Closing the compilation on a strong note is Thermal, the joint-project from Bordeaux-based French producers Sevenbeatz and Moody Gliani. They put together “Vice Street”, a downtempo take on trance music with transcending basslines and a strong 4/4 beat built to challenge the best sound system. It’s a really smart production, with its long breaks, strong builds and overall feeling of never-ending electronic journey.

"Natebytheway delivers his new EP ‘Witless Q&A’s via the Filippo MSM helmed Kulture Galerie this February, comprising five original cuts.

Natebytheway is a rising Berlin based producer and DJ dropping dynamic dancefloor bumpers as self-releases via his own bandcamp while just over the horizon is a return to Kulture Galerie following his contribution to the labels NFTS 999 compilation and a single on Gene On Earth’s nug-net imprint.

Opening the EP is ‘varoom’, a twisting and turning jaunt through an amalgamation of twitchy acid squelches, resonant licks, crisp drums and low-pitched vocals. ‘pleaseordermefries’ follows, embracing a more classic deep house aesthetic with shimmering chords, ethereal pad textures, hypnotic vocal chants and heavily swung drums before ‘kennywho’ wanders down the unique path of hip house with warped strings, pulsating subs, hip hop vocal lines and snappy percussion throughout.

‘cloudaddict’ then diverges back into dreamy realms with pillowy soft, cloudy atmospherics and breathy voices floating atop modulating rhythms and snaking bass notes. ‘didyouwant’ finally rounds out the package, flipping the switch entirely to bright vintage keys, a bumpy bass groove, robotic synth licks and saturated disco drums."

The Portuguese Dj/Producer has started to build a reputation for his techno and tech house grooves.
David Ismael brings high energy onto dance floors and always seeks the most meaningfull and potent energies that electronic music as to offer.
What was merely a passion became an addiction for him. As a producer he has his very own style, producing high quality techno and tech house music year after year. 
In 2009 he was invited to do his first commercially available remix, allowing him to start realising his dreams.

In 2011 he reached No.9 in the Top 100 at Trackitdown with “Human Bounce”.

He hit the charts again in 2012 with “Africa Returns” and “Africa Returns (AfricaTribe)” after being requested to release an EP by the same American record label who released his previous chart success. These achieved places in the Top100 Techhouse on Audiojelly.
With these productions catching traction early on, this opened the door to sharing his own style and vibe with others through DJ sets in many high profile clubs in his home country and further afield.
The ongoing successes he has had culminated in the release of his 1st Album “In The Dark Of The Night” in 2017, followed swiftly by the release of several singles and EP´s. His 2nd Album “Line Of Faith” was released in 2021 gaining attention from music enthusiasts and media internationally.
Moving between Portugal, Italy and the UK whilst working on his latest projects this has allowed him to widen his scope musically, bringing more finesse and musical influence to his future works. This experienced Producer and DJ has many more banging tracks to bring to the Techno and Techhouse scene.
