While I usually lean heavily into jump-up, dancefloor, and neuro when I play, I’m still a huge fan of jungle. I ended up experimenting with some drum breaks and came up with the concept for this track.

This version might only be up temporarily since I haven’t fully dived into mixing and mastering it yet. But I wanted to share it for a bit because I’m really loving it.

Samurai Music's Russian connection -Saint Petersburg-based Torn has refined his hi-tech dread to maximum efficacy since his solo vinyl debut on Samurai sister label Shiro in 2017. The Internal EP sees his sculpted malaise reaching a creative peak, completing construction on a distinctive desolation he now inhabits like a second skin.  'Acheron' - an inevitable collaboration with Homemade Weapons, sees these two masters of menace fusing their rhythmic prowess into a sleek, malicious tear, while the 3 solo tunes display Torn's newfound artistic maturity with pride and vigour. Sharpened breakbeat spears are deftly welded to Torn's pounding pulses of gloom, with lead track 'Internal' being the most dominating stylistic showcase on the EP. A forceful statement from one of drum and bass music's more promising new talents.

This is a track I've made for John Samplejunkie's upcoming compilation EP on In:Flux Audio. Been playing around with vocoding and voice synthesis a bit recently, so that features heavily in the track, as does the fact that I have rubber hands.

Almost certainly the silliest tune I've ever written!

One of our favorite producers pushing the hybrid bass rave sound, Samurai Breaks is serving unrelenting bounce and blistering snares with this club banger clocking in at 170bpm. Worst Behavior Recs Vol.3 compilation explores a wide spectrum of bass sounds ranging from peak Rave like this here "Ayayay" number, to chilled downtempo. It hosts returning alumni Jon1st, A.Fruit,Bell Curve, A-0 and has exciting new contributors Yazzus, DJ Swisha, Bastiengoat, Dj Girl, Nikki Nair, 
DJ FLP, Stranjah, and Mars Kasei & Deeplinkin.
A portion of profits from the release are going to Eden Reforestation, which plants trees in deforested countries, and G.L.I.T.S., a Black-trans founded organization that supports trans sexworkers and advocates politically for trans people.
