I accidentally visited Fuse club for the first time in the summer of 2003 and  I wasn’t moved by the banging loop techno in the big room, I felt more the music in the smaller ‘motion’ room where a dj was playing an all nighter set. He had a unique sound that was way more connected to my hazy and smoked-out musical taste of that time. This dj was called St Dic and sadly flew away in 2006 from planet earth way too soon at the age of 32.


Over the last year I was lucky to buy records from Pascal Saint-Dic's collection and found many special things. Salvatore, who was a very close friend of Pascal, has his monthly residency at KIOSK RADIO today and we will dedicate it fully to this late belgian dj.

"I haven’t recorded a mix in a long time. After months of digging, I wanted to put something together as a love letter to my beautiful friends and for the friends who have embarked on a different journey beyond the veil.

Mix of Vinyl & CDJ, opening with a track featuring Amiri Baraka’s poetry, 'A New Reality Is Better Than A New Movie!'

The poem vividly imagines the old, unequal capitalist world being engulfed in an inferno. The footage captured on film seems insignificant compared to the revolutionary reality that awaits: 'The real terror of nature is humanity enraged, the true/technicolor spectacle that/Hollywood/can't record.' Baraka anticipates that such indignation will fuel a call for 'the emergence of a new socialist reality, the impending tidal wave that will reshape the world.'

Love to @lennyposso for featuring the poem in the track, as reading it was eye-opening and set a mood I was feeling for the start of the mix.

Lots of minimal, acidy, wubby, and analogic sounds, to 2003/2005 US and UK house with a splash of raw techno grooves. An elbow to the turntable at the end of the mix adds extra authenticity <3. Was waiting on VOG by the mighty Mattias, and it finally arrived in the post, so it was a must in the mix!!! I hope you enjoy as much as I did x."

Red Gallery is well known for documenting Youth Cultures and their sub genres in ground breaking exhibitions that go on to tour the world, we are pleased to announce our 2nd instalment in our series of 7 exhibitions on Youth subcultures, this time we take a good look at Italo Disco AKA Spaghetti Disco.
Red Gallery LDN asked London based Italian journalist Lorenzo to curate and tell the story of one of the most exciting adventures in the history of the dance music of Italy and tell how it really was, the Good, the bad & the Ugly side of this amazing genre Curating an exhibition about Italo Disco meant that Lorenzo had to dig in dark recesses of Italian dance music, a country where in the 70s and 80s the extremes collided and created something as unique as the Italo Disco music scene. During the two weeks of the exhibition several DJ’s will be invited to play at Red Gallery/Kamio:
