Threeways (Born David Cantliffe 1986) is a rapper, singer, songwriter, guitarist and comedian hailing from Manchester. Threeways originally started writing music aged 15 and originally went by the name of D.O.E (Dave Of England) All of his music at this time concentrated on his heartbreaks from previous relationships and tough school life, he used music as therapy to help him overcome issues within his personal life. Although D.O.E (Threeways) recorded music daily, he wouldn’t release any of his music as he did not believe it was good enough to be aired to the public. At the age of 25, D.O.E (Threeways) was bought a guitar for Christmas and taught himself to play the basic chords. After mastering the basics he began to write original music using his acoustic guitar. D.O.E soon decided to change his name to Threeways, this being because he made music in three ways (Singing, rapping and playing instruments live). Threeways began to upload music and videos onto YouTube, some of which had brilliant feedback, thus giving Threeways the confidence to continue making music. His cover of “Grind with me” by Pretty Ricky currently has 88,000 views!

After the name change Threeways decided to pursue a battle rap career and put his music on hold. In 2011 Threeways tried out for Don’t Flop in Manchester Vs Plain David. Threeways had never performed live at this point in his career and underestimated the pressure he would have been under and unfortunately choked in his third round. Threeways won the battle but unfortunately has not been back to Don’t Flop. Threeways then travelled to London to try out on the Jump Off stage in a freestyle battle to attempt to become Jump Off champion. After beating Lighte Boombox, Threeways was eventually beaten convincingly by Dotz. Since Jump Off, Threeways has battled at Spitroast Rap Battles, Barmageddon Battles, Rapped In Wire, The Rap House and North East Grief. Picking up only 2 losses in his entire rap battling career (Dotz and Jeffers) Threeways went on to become the first Rapped In Wire Champion after beating Bizzo (Judged by Don’t Flop Legends such as Bowski, Blizzard and Shotty Horroh).

June 2013 was when Threeways first tried stand up comedy at The Comedy Store in Manchester where he fell in love with stand up comedy. You can catch Threeways stand up routine every last Sunday of each month at The Comedy Store in Manchester.

In October 2013, Threeways decided to open a brand new company called “Cross The Ts Entertainment” which is a music events company based in Manchester. He then hired Claire Davenport (T.R.U Founder) and Raptor to help him build the company and to help it become successful.

Threeways is currently working on his debut album “This Way To Three” which is scheduled to be released in May 2014 which will feature songs such as “Looking Down On Me” and “Bring Me Back To Life” which are both viewable on 23MediaUK’s YouTube Channel. Threeways music is very inspirational for those who have experienced similar experiences than him. He speaks of love, his family, his son, his upbringing, his hometown and all things close to his heart. Playing music live, on his guitar is where Threeways really comes alive, and his emotions shine through.
