[ Movement 1 : The Calm ] (Piano Intro)
Even though the early afternoon sunlight feels welcoming as it shines upon your face, something feels off.  Your mind fills with dread, as you're overtaken by an overwhelming sense of impending doom.
This is The Calm.

This is the first song I did what I call "beat slicing" to. I remember hearing my kids playing the original and thinking "wow, that would make a decent 7/4 beat as well". When one of my son's also made the same observation and mentioned it to me out of the blue (I had said nothing about this), I realized that maybe there was a way to pull that off. So I commenced taking the song and dividing it up in various ways to see what would happen. As I progressed through the idea, I realized that if I put two versions of different ways of dividing the measures, it retained a majority of the song as well as create kind of a cool delay effect. I eq'd it so that the rhythm section was a little more subdued and added my own in to give it more of a steady beat with the bass drum and church bell.
