David Dear is ready with his new single, which is about the things that keeps us all sleepless.

David Dears "To Invent A Color" is the first release from his upcoming debut EP. The track unfolds with energetic synthesizer sequences and powerful drums , while the lyrics unfolds the despair in the struggle against ones own psyche.

It is melancholic, Nordic, electronic soul.

If Thom Yorke and James Blake had a bastard child, David Dear may just be that child. With his vocal swinging from intimate hoarseness, to an intense falsetto, he captures your attention from the get go. The depths of his lyrics shows that he has important subjects on his mind.

David Dear produces, mixes, writes and sings all of his original material. “To Invent A Color” is released via the independent Danish label 10 Fingers on Friday the 26th of October.

Behind the moniker David Dear is David Nørlund Wiberg, a 24-year songwriter and composer from Copenhagen, Denmark. He has previously worked under the name Nörberg.

To Invent A Color

Second time around for Linkwood's delicious debut album, "System", which re-appears on vinyl a decade after it first hit record stores. The set has aged really well, with the Edinburgh producer's forays into Kraftwerkian electro ("Robot Parade", "Pumpernickel"), vocal nu-boogie (the Reggie Watts-voiced "Tears") and kaleidoscopic electrofunk ("Falling") sounding particularly on-trend. Of course, there's plenty more to set the pulse racing elsewhere across the LP, from the bustling, Chicago deep house jack of "Electricity", to the rhythmic ambient bliss of loved-up closing cut "Nectarine". It is, then, an album that's not only stood the test of time, but also boasts some genuinely stunning, club-ready moments.
